Lots of potential with this one! The core gameplay loop is addicting, but naturally the lack of ingredient variety and combinations means that it gets boring quickly. The visual style, though simple, is effective. The choice for music is great too. Good work!

Thank you for playing! Yes I started off with grandiose plans for an in-depth ingredient system with more combinations and even the ability to mess up the order in more ways (too much cocoa, adding milk after whipped cream would cause it to mix in instead of sitting on top, etc.) Sadly ran out of time, but I will certainly plan ahead better next time!

The zip you uploaded is marked as executable by Mac but I was not able to find a .app or .dmg file to run

So sorry about that! I'm very new to this and saw in the Unity editor something about the build being compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac, so I just went with that. Will keep in mind for the future, thanks!

Ya in unity there is a tab for Mac, windows and linux on the left but then on the right you need to select from the drop down which one you want.

On one hand, I had issues with this game. On the other, I couldn’t stop playing…

My issues basically boiled down to there being no explanation regarding the controls or what to do. I was quickly able to figure out this was a “assemble the order” sort of game, but there was no explanation on what the process was supposed to be. I spent a huge chunk of time thinking I needed to get water from the sink (because, if there’s a sink, why wouldn’t you need water from it to make a drink). I was even trying to figure out the stove a little. Ultimately, it took me a really long time to realize the sink and stove were not needed at all, and until I figured that out, I very nearly gave up.

Once I figured things out, however, I really did get into the rhythm of making drinks and delivering them to the single, really thirsty, customer I had. I was a little disappointed that there was no fail or victory state, but on the other, I just fell into a nice cozy rhythm of just pumping out drinks like a master cocoa-tier!

I thought the character’s movement felt really nice! I liked how the character turned to face where I was going. Very slick.

Over all, very nice game that just needed some control/cooking explanations to smooth things over, in my opinion.

If you’re interested in watching frustration give way to entering the zone, I streamed my play of this game on my twitch channel.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I watched the vod and it was very good insight! Completed forgot to add an explanation for controls and the mechanics, will definitely remember that for future jams. The clutter was because the original plan was to have orders be more varied, like using water instead of milk, cold instead of hot, and the ability to wash out cups to reset them if the player messed something up. So sorry you struggled with it but very happy you figured it out and were able to sink into it! Will definitely add a win/lose state as well in future jams. Great feedback and great stream!

The game captures the cozy winter vibe well. I felt like the game would benefits from some kind of ending. The visuals is nice. I like your pause UI layout. Nice game.
