I love the use of the sound effects, really makes for a creepy atmosphere! The screen effect when the camera gets closer and starts to cloud over makes me feel like i’m the one chasing the character :D
I do like the 2nd and 3rd chance when you run out, just that bit of extra ‘health’ got me over the line to the house.
The overall feel does remind me of a fever dream of being chased which really fits!
The idea of looking at the player character from the point-of-view of what was chasing him is what got us excited about making this, so I'm really glad to hear appreciation for it. Thank you for you playing and commenting!
This game left me with so many delightful questions, like: Why do I look like I'm wearing a hospital gown? Have I escaped an insane asylum or something? What exactly is chasing me? (I love the fact that we don't actually get to see what's chasing us.) And why is the house so big!? It all definitely makes me feel like this is some kind of horrifying delusion or nightmare. If this were a full-length game, I'd definitely be playing more to find out the context of what's going on!
Would love to add a story if we had more time! Thank you so much for the suggestions and we're so glad that you would play it more ^^!
I like this game. There are cool sounds and sometimes scary. Also I liked animation of player.
Thank you! The team worked hard to get the animation right so, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I'm a big fan of horror movies and horror games which are not shooters, so I liked this! I find that horror is probably the hardest genre to do right on a budget and strict timeline, because it depends so much on building a spooky atmosphere. I think you did a great job on that front, even though that's quite the challenge. I'd really love to see this game updated in the future, it has a lot of experience and if you do find a way to make your own assets (or have someone do it) to get something more cohesive, it could be a genuinely awesome game. I would see that working on tablet or mobile, for example.
Thank you Roxanoel I'm glad you enjoyed our game! Yes, hopefully, we can learn some 3D and create some real spooky assets or skyboxes! It would be fun to continue on this.
Very atmospheric and spooky! Had fun playing it
Thank you Citrus, we're glad you enjoyed it!
I loved this game
Thank you Kev!
I liked how the camera was positioned to get closer to the player, and the light switches were tricky where I had to clip them on the side so I could keep going and get caught! Also at first I thought I was dying from the heart symbol but then realized it was the stamina bar.
Thank you! That was my favorite feature, we really wanted to make it feel like someone was following you. Thank you for the suggestion as well!
i was prepared for a jumpscare with the game over, fortunally it didn't happened, loved the atmosphere and the challenge
Lol, 🤔 maybe we should add something. Thank you for playing!
Great game and good creepy environment + sound effects!
It was a mad scramble to find free assets we could use since none of us were 3d artists, so it's good to hear it worked well for you. Thank you for playing and commenting!
i like the mechanic to switch the light and then go to the light so you can have more time to run :D
Glad you liked! At first I was unsure, since it's the most simple mechanic I've ever based a game around, but the 'one rule' theme kind of gives us permission to go for that kind of simplicity. Thank you for playing and commenting!
Good job! Nice game for 48 hours. I beat the left and right path :)
Nice design on things like the camera getting closer making it feel like whatever is chasing us is catching up, and then having it back off a bit when youre in the light. Almost like the monster/person is scared of the light. ( Or maybe we are running away from our own fear of the dark? )
Either way, well done!
That's a great interpretation, and definitely something we discussed when we came up with the idea. Thank you for playing and commenting!
