Cool entry! I think the first part of the game was a bit odd, though, but I really liked the idea of leaving the string across the labyrinth to make your way back! Makes me think of classic Nintendo games!

Maybe you could work on a system where the labyrinth moves and traps you like in the original mythology, and it would also spice up the beginning section of the game too! Overall, great job! :D

Thank you for your comment! Traps in the labyrinth are already at the normal difficulty level, and as for the variability of the labyrinth , the labyrinth looks different every time you start the game (procedural generation).

Ah yep, cool! :D

This is quite a good game, but it lacks some interaction, the trail idea was good to not get lost, but the fight with the boss was boring because he jumped high in the air and for like 15 seconds and i couldn't do anything and couldn't figure out did i win or die, the myth thing was just too long and could've been putted in a more interesting way to read. Of course what I said is not easily possible to achieve in only a week, the music was awesome.

This idea was putted together very well and if the time was longer this game could've been even better.

Good job!

Thank you for your comment! I agree with you that the boss should have been more interesting.

Rope idea is really good. At the last part i couldn't understand if i died or killed the boss :)

This game is truly excellent. The music fits the theme and art style of the game, and the gameplay is enjoyable. Some enemies in the first area would have been good, since I feel like the combat was a bit underused. While it was a bit frustrating to deal with, the low vision still fit in well, and I think that the game would have been less fun without it (though I think that the minimum vision should have been a bit higher.) Overall, I strongly believe that this game should have one of the top spots in the jam. Great job!

Okay.

Art: 9/10 - Could've tried to shade a bit the characther.

Sound: 8/10 - The sounds seems fitting for the game.

Gameplay: 7/10 - Short answer? You tried. Long answer? The part with boss's jump lasted a bit too long (Like 5 secs?) plus there was no hp bar so I can't tell if I've killed him or got somehow killed (idk if not having lot of light kills you)

Note: the Myth button shows me a long text, I mean you could've worked a bit more on the text and actual make the text shorter by just trying to explain the story in 3 sentences or few. Also the light source seems a bit weird, overall, it's still good.

My overall rate: 8/10 (If you are new to coding games, 9/10, you did a good job for a beginner)

Thank you for your very detailed comment! I will take into account all the shortcomings of the game. I like to experiment with the genre or gameplay of the game, but it doesn't always come out to do it well.

P.S. I started creating my games from the summer of 2020.

Cool game, good interpretation of theme, i like it!

Best interpretation of the theme I've seen so far. It's based off an actual old event. Yeah, nice work.

I like the idea of using the string to mark where you have gone, smart and original! the final battle part felt not as interesting as the first part though Imao.

I'm not sure if this would be a good idea or ruin the game: if we can see the string, even in dark, it might help us to find the road easily(but might also make it too simple? I'm not sure)

I think the rope can be made visible in a separate game mode.

Cool game, really captures the feeling of walking through an ancint greek Labyrinth (i would know)! The music gets annoying quickly, though.

Developer

Thank you for your comment! But in the game, there are settings in the main menu. You can turn off the music in settings.
