Throughout this Game Jam there were a ton of cool games and versions of games that sadly could not make it to the end, although the ones that did were all great and definitely deserved it. While that is the spirit of a game development competition, there were still plenty that had a lot of effort/heart put into them. Here you can post your games (or any you liked) that didn't make it but you think should be acknowledged. I'll start it off with the one I worked on:

RIP to Keep The Light Alive (Day 1-3)

Partly because it was my Day 1 but also because holy s#@$ the character designs that Day 3 added are so cool and creative, I love them. Look at lightcat (no I don't know why the game's files call her lightcat), she has an insectoid crown thing that's shaped like a heart and she has a light bulb growing out of her forehead AND A RACCOON MASK KYA SHE'S SO ADORABLE

RIP to my game Sandstorm Day 1-3. Really sad to see it go as it had so much potential and I even saw someone do a full reskin of it in 3D which was really cool

I'll be playing with that one more in the future, I want to feel like a powerful tornado :D It's also surprisingly easy to switch a project over to 3D

yeah, but adding in all the art and models too, thats something!

That was actually super quick :D I already had a tornado and tornado shader from KriptoFX's Realistic Effects Pack 4, and I love whipping up particles and quick prototype 3d bits.

The fun part was programming the tornado to regenerate its energy based on the terrain splat maps containing sand, and take damage while over water or climbing too high, allowing me to paint actual gameplay with the terrain. It's something I've used for dynamic footstep sounds, but I think was usage is much cooler.

There's an unofficial 7th round happening in a few days, so that'd be a great opportunity to finish it up!

rip countless times ( day 1-2 ), didnt get to work on it much longer :< but i think it was a nice experiment with braid/time-control mechanics
