Wow, really amazing graphics and music! Great mood. The puzzles were rather simple but nice. The gameplay was really polished, so overall it looked like a really solid game done in significantly more than 2 days.

If I were to add anything it would be an ability to restart when you mess something up (even though it's pretty hard given simple levels) and checkpoints in case you accidentally fall into the water.

But overall, really impressive and amazing job! Enjoyed the game!

We were 2 working on this and there was definetly more than 2 days worth of work since we worked for around 30 to 40 hours each on those two days, we just literrally did nothing but the creating the game during this week-end ^^

I don't know how you did your game jam but that's how we like to do them! That's probably not the smartest way but it's really enjoyable once you are done!

Awesome game! I feel you could've shown off the mechanics of the Garys in one or two levels and used the other levels for creating more complex puzzles as there's a lot of potential with the idea. But it was really fun and beautiful

Developer (1 edit)

We wanted to really introduce not more than one mechanic per level, to not make it harder than it already is. But we definetly needed more levels with harder puzzles,  we just over-estimated our time left. We are use to 3 days game jam, that's probably why.

That's a really nice puzzle-platformer for a couple of days! I think the bridge building mechanic in the first level alone could be used to make some pretty interesting puzzles.

It's strengths don't really lie in its platformer elements, I'd nix things like the tiny platforms in level 3. I had replay that level after falling into the water several times and the music helped keep me lucid till completion. That level's music has a very nice countermelody.

Developer

Thanks, you are right, we should have avoided these hard platform, when making the levels they were looking quite easy, but we kind of forgot that when making a game it's always easier for us to play it, won't do this mistake next time!

Nice to look at. Tiny platforms are quite challeging.

nice game!

We had a lot of fun testing your game during our live stream today, here is a link to the video archive if you missed it or wish to check again:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoMEaPCVoCU&t=6258s

We were sooooo bad at jumping :D hehe, a lot a failure on our side but the game looks increadible, the gameplay is very good. Amazing work for a 48h gamejam!

Developer(+1)

Not going to lie, I had a lot of fun looking at you replay some levels, clearly this wasn't your type of game, but you still tryed it for a pretty long time, thanks a lot!

That was cool! Very polished for 48 hours, well done. Lots of puzz potential in those mechanics, would be interesting to see what more difficult levels would be like. I noticed I could jump around some of the gates but it ended up not mattering because it was more about whether or not the gary's could path around, I wonder if that could be used deliberately in a puzzle?

Developer(+1)

We made sure that it wasn't possible for player to cheat going over certain gates and gary's can't go on those path since we have to define them manually and we didn't. But we would be happy if you could prove us wrong and  show us some shortcut!

That's a very nice game! I like the idea that some slugs can jump and some can't, and they all can do different things! Platforming is too stiff, and sometimes it's difficult to tell where the player is, it would be nice to have a shadow casted directly down from the player. However the game is very good! Great job

Developer

Thanks for you comment, it seems like the shadow issue is reccurent. We won't forget this next time, Thanks!

I like the voronoi water! Cool use of shaders. I did however have some serious framerate issues. I like the option to switch from azerty to qwerty keyboard layout! I'm not entirely sure, but I think I beat the game? I was taken back to level 1 after a level with a lot of Gary's behind doors.  Overall, it feels a bit rough. Without a shadow directly below the player it can be hard to know your exact position in 3D space, which makes jumps across gaps onto small platforms much more difficult than I imagine you were going for.  It would've also been nice to have a "you win" screen, but I understand how the tight deadline can cut features out. Nice entry.

Developer

Thanks for your comment! We wanted to add this screen, but with the tight deadline we weren't able to, there was a lot more planed, like 3 or 4 different Gary's that would have spiced up the gameplay, but yeah 2 days is a bit short, we are use to 3 days jam which would have been perfect for this game. For the shadow thing, I'm not 100% sure about it but with the settings in ultra we had everything right. We just forgot to test lower qualities, that's probably why we didn't saw this shadow issue and I'm sorry for that.
