Hi! Thank you for the game. I really liked the visuals and the atmosphere. I had only two problems:
1. At first I didn't get what to do and was just blindly moving the drone for about 10 minutes until i found, that there are messages that guide me. Then I restarted the game (only later have I understood that I could simply retrieve the drone) and was going from room to room for some time. I couldn't get what the blackbox said about the terminal and made several rounds around all the rooms until I found, that i should just retrieve the drone.
2. As going for the black box for the second time was scary, I just retrieved and now I wonder, what would have happened. Also, after i received the last message, the game collapsed and left me a error code. But probably it was the end of the game, so i think i haven't lost any info.
The experience overall was quite fun, so thank you again. Hope this comment will be useful:)
i really enjoyed this. i love how the drone appears on your radar, it sets up the second part where something else appears on your radar. i enjoyed the dialogue (although it took a while to realize i was meant to progress the communications myself, i assumed they just went forward automatically as i did things) and the general writing. well done!
Glad you enjoyed the radar part! I was really worried the game would be too flat haha
Okay, so at first I wasn't sure what to do, until I read in the comments I had to go right. Then after gavering the bb and repair parts, I got stuck again, until..... I understood the box right to the radar was displaying interactable messages that actually advance the story, and then everything went smoothly.
So in my opinion the only "issue" is here: it's not that the game lacks guidance, it just lack a visual clue to show where the guidance is. Maybe if the "Next..." prompt was bigger/bolder and was blinking it would do the trick. An actual "Next" or ">" button maybe with a blinking "led light" to notify and attract attention would be great.
All in all, I had a great time when I knew what to do. 5-5. This is just some ideas to improve the concept after the jam.
This is all great feedback! I had the same idea to make the messages tab light up more after watching some friends playtest it but I ended up having to forgo it due to time constraints. Thanks for playing though!
I really enjoyed this! Really unique and interesting, effectively eerie through simple means. Really good.
Really good! I love the artstyle and lore - they fit with the gameplay really well. One issue is that I wish the drone could be controlled by arrows/WASD instead of having the mouse do everything. I also found it a bit difficult to select items to interact with - you need to put your cursor on an item and then move directly to the 'actions' tab, I wish you could select objects instead
Fair criticism on the UI element, I myself suffered a lot while playtesting from it as well but had no time to fix it. Thanks for playing!
I get a lot of Duskers vibes with this one. Interface could convey more info to the player.
Thanks for playing! And yep, you totally got it, I had this idea after watching a video about Duskers
It's an interesting concept. However, I spent 10 minutes driving around aimlessly before I figured out I was supposed to just send the drone to the right. Another 10 minutes of gathering everything inside and I have no idea what to do. This game could be improved by having more guidance for the player.
Thanks for playing! We actually playtested this with some friends and ran into the same issue, given more time I would have definitely liked to add more guidance, unfortunately I started the jam quite late haha
