What a fun little game. I wish I could shoot diagonally like the enemies. The upgrade system is super cool and the little minigame when repairing yourself is really fun. I only think that repairing yourself should refill your health completely, since in the time playing the game I only got to repair myself twice. Also the game told me I won in the middle of a fight, which was a bit strange. But there are a lot of cool ideas here! Well done!
Having to manage resources in order to heal provides a great dimension to games like this, where suddenly, your healing does not depend on the world's conditions and whether some enemy dropped a health pickup or not, but rather on the player and his choice to whether spend their valuable resources on healing or not. Some possible pointers on how to further expand/improve this concept:
Bolts could be used on stores as well, to create a choice for the player whether to spend them on healing or on useful upgrades! Having the items being bought with hearts makes having all hearts filled a optimal course of action!
Having a mini-game for healing is a valid design option, yet don't forget how this affects the game's flow! Personally, I found it a bit weird to stop in the middle of the action to do a puzzle mini-game without any time limit or a sense or urgency. Also think about the consequences of failing this mini-game if you do choose to include it: Should you heal less or more depending on how well you did? Maybe Spend less per heal in case you succeed? It provides a lot of possible design choices!
Lastly, some UI design tips. If you choose to limit the shooting aim in the cardinal directions, consider allowing players to use the WASD to move and arrow keys to shoot, in a twin-stick like way! I think it would fit the control scheme perhaps a bit better than the mouse, but that's just an opinion.
Wow! Really good ideas! Originally, i thought of only letting the player using the heal pod when in combat, so you will have to risk getting damaged when healing. I love the idea of choosing between healing and shopping with the bolts! Making the shooting to arrow keys might make the game inaccessible to certain players without arrow keys, but maybe i could make a mapping system for the keys. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback!
This is really cool! graphics look nice, music is sweet, and the way you linked the enemy drops and shops to the player's health is really creative and works well. Honestly if you do continue to expand this the only real thing that could use some work would be polishing up the mechanics. (Some quick pointers I would recommend is keep enemies from spawning on/ right next to the player, (maybe) open the doors when the boss is killed (I wasn't done exploring, though this one isnt needed), fix the esc button, and offer a little explanation on how/why you win because I beat it 3 times and I'm still not quite sure what causes that) but other than those pretty nitpicky hiccups great job, especially for three days!
Ill be sure to add a story and some cut scenes between each level! I also spotted the boss not opening doors glitch and the unfairness of enemies spawning right next to the character, but was running out of time to fix it :P Glad you liked it!
This is a solid game. Its fun, keeps you on your toes, give you options for customizing your robot, and switches it up with different enemy types. The healing mechanic is also a quick little mini game that made me feel like robot that was repairing itself. Very enjoyable.
There were a few things that could be tweaked. The sound of your rapid fire is a little low. At first I thought there was no sound at all. Occasionally enemies will spawn in front of doorways and you will injured right away. I was also unsure how much health I would get back after healing. It seemed like I could never get back to full.
Overall, these are details that just need more time to ironed out. The core stuff is solid. Well done!
Thanks for the feedback! This game was a rush for my skillset, so i didnt have much time to polish and balance things up. I was building the game in the last 15 mins xD. I will be sure to work on balancing the repairs and enemies when i re make the game!
Your welcome! I hear you about that crunch. I think I submitted my game with about 3 minutes to spare. I was sweating bullets. Looking forward to your update!

Really cool game with a brilliant concept and very good art and music! I really enjoyed it! Great job!
Cool concept. I personally would have preferred it to have been a bit faster paced though.
I really like the core concept!

Solid work on the concept overall! :)
