I really enjoyed having the choice of upgrades, it gave me the feeling that I could endlessly replay and try different builds. I never made it very far, but always had fun.

Thank you for playing! Very glad you had fun with it.

Yeah it's a bit too difficult. My initial idea was that you will be able to slowly overpower yourself in the way you want, have some fun creating chaos and then die anyway, so I will probably have an additional mode in the post jam version where you will need to grab all three upgrades every time, specifically for overpowering yourself.

Cool power ups and the secondary fire makes perfect sense with bigger enemies, or a group of lined up smaller ones. I really like the 1:1 aspect ratio, too.

I got goose bumps as the drums finally kicked in, very nice.

The controls kept getting stuck, maybe because of the context menu that keeps getting popped up when playing the web version and using the railgun, but I took that as an extra challenge B--)

Thank you for playing!

yeah the rail gun is also very useful for little shooters that are keeping distance and you can't really get them effectively with the primary fire because of other, more close enemies

Ooh thank you very much, its very nice to hear I was able to deliver that feeling with music. Im thinkin on releasing the soundtrack separately.

Yeah the problem with controls must be because initially I forgot and then had no time to add mouse grabbing, so it will not be possible for cursor to go outside the game window. Very unfortunate and sad. Makes sense to play fullscreen in browser. I already fixed all of that, so it will be good in the post jam update.

Scored 0.

Not made for this genre :(

I wasn’t able to tell how many lives I still have.

Had no time to work with scoring system more, right now you get scores only for extra energy collected (if collected more than needed to charge that thing in the middle of the screen), and it's definitely not intuitive.  So basically scores does not mean anything right now. Will add an enemy wave counter on the game over screen and make getting scores for destroying enemies in post jam version.

Not sure what to say about lives, you have only one try and there is health bar in the left bottom corner.

Ah, must have missed that. Thank you for the clarification.

Nice work, very respectable scope and balance for your first-ever game! I definitely didn't see all of it, I'm not super skilled in this genre. But the video showed me some stuff I didn't reach because I keep dying too early. 😄 It was fun though. Again, nice work!

Thank you for playing!

Still, I probably made it a bit too hard unintentionally, will rebalance it for postjam version. And will probably add an "overpowered" mode where you will be able to pick up all 3 upgrades every time instead of 1, this way it gets extremely easy but damn its fun to see the chaos you can do haha

To be fair, it is expected in this genre to get increasingly difficult as the game goes on. The beginning felt very approachable, and my compliment for the balancing was sincere. But the overpowered idea sounds fun too!
