Weeell, next one in december, so take your time

Oh tell your wife I adore walking animation in this game

(1 edit)

It's unfortunate you was not able to finish it, but I guess the experience is really useful. Though the Pico-8 gives some vibes that even this demo is pleasant. The sprites looks very good too.

Trying to find the right idea for a game is probably the most difficult part haha.

Yeah we are thinking on making it somewhat regular event, not like every month tho. So I'll be waiting for your next try!

Thank you for playing!

Well, I'm making a post-jam update right now. But it's just some rebalance to make it a bit easier and adding things I forgot or had no time to make.

I personally expected the elevator to go back down on itself when you are standing under it, but stairs would work too.

Thank you for playing! Very glad you had fun with it.

Yeah it's a bit too difficult. My initial idea was that you will be able to slowly overpower yourself in the way you want, have some fun creating chaos and then die anyway, so I will probably have an additional mode in the post jam version where you will need to grab all three upgrades every time, specifically for overpowering yourself.

Haha, I basically had same thought process and result

Came back to the game 4th time and now I got to the end.

Very lovely visuals, good music, very cool animations and controls. I had no problems with jumps (though I guess it could be explained somehow that there is no double jump but you just add a momentum to your jumps firing down at the right timing, I got it right from the beginning, but just because I noticed how shooting push you back a bit)

Overall it feels insanely good, if not considering that it's too short.

The only problem I had, and why I finished only on my forth time - sometimes when you enter the doors, you get spawned under the map, or something like that. I mean, every door entering there are chances of you end up dying and loosing all the money. I think I died once after getting out of the trash container too. I was also able to get to places I was not supposed too and died by falling off the screen, but it's okay considering the time restrictions of the jam.

And yeah again, I really liked controls and that jumping system. Loved the elevator too, tho it seems it's not possible to bring it back down if you fell from it while on top.

Played in the browser, so maybe this is where all the bugs come from

Thank you for playing!

yeah the rail gun is also very useful for little shooters that are keeping distance and you can't really get them effectively with the primary fire because of other, more close enemies

Ooh thank you very much, its very nice to hear I was able to deliver that feeling with music. Im thinkin on releasing the soundtrack separately.

Yeah the problem with controls must be because initially I forgot and then had no time to add mouse grabbing, so it will not be possible for cursor to go outside the game window. Very unfortunate and sad. Makes sense to play fullscreen in browser. I already fixed all of that, so it will be good in the post jam update.

Had no time to work with scoring system more, right now you get scores only for extra energy collected (if collected more than needed to charge that thing in the middle of the screen), and it's definitely not intuitive.  So basically scores does not mean anything right now. Will add an enemy wave counter on the game over screen and make getting scores for destroying enemies in post jam version.

Not sure what to say about lives, you have only one try and there is health bar in the left bottom corner.

By the way, wanted to add. I'm not sure how difficult it is, but it would be cool if the fediverse was actually involved in the game. Like for example, you need to really mention some special profile on mastodon with a message and who to deliver it too. Then it appears in the game, and it can be delivered to the corresponding cloud(server), and then that special profile will send a real message to the recipient.

Well I'm sure you probably had that idea too, just wanted to tell it

Ah god damn really, I'm sorry, that was a bit embarrassing. It was a different game, even with no art assets at all, but somehow I was 100% sure I saw all those assets there.

I see you was not able to finish it properly, but anyway it felt fun enough. Had no problems with a "boss" cloud, yeah I made it not on the first try but well, it's a boss. Controls are good. I think I saw your live stream where you was trying to make the camera look down when standing near the edge, but I guess it didn't got to the released version?

Was waiting to play it after I saw a video on mastodon.

Got ~62 words on the first try.  I like the idea, controlling the feather by creating wind, feels very nice. I only had some problems with moving the feather to the sides, that was a bit difficult.

Music and visual is awesome, as well as overall feeling, everything fits together so well

Thank you for playing!

Still, I probably made it a bit too hard unintentionally, will rebalance it for postjam version. And will probably add an "overpowered" mode where you will be able to pick up all 3 upgrades every time instead of 1, this way it gets extremely easy but damn its fun to see the chaos you can do haha

Looking good! Loved the enemy ai, that they can take those tables to use it as a cover, felt unexpected and cool.

Petting the dog and sheep is the first thing I tried.

This is very good, I love it's absolutely playable on mobile.

I made it to the level 14 and now stuck for 10 minutes already, I hope I'll get it

EDIT:

Did it right after posting the comment, and now finished the last one. Very good game. By the way I love music very much

There is not a lot to do, but damn I never saw anything like that before haha, I love it so much, I will be showing it to everyone

I wish only there was a possibility to scratch the tongue with a sharp plastic end when it sticks out of the candy.  I don't know why but I can't stop thinking about it and feeling pain while playing the game.

I think it was the first game I tried around a week ago. Once you master the helicopter controls - it's actually fun to fly around. What's definitely cool is that you can configure everything before playing.

I think I cheated a bit non-intentionally, somehow most of the messages were sent to the houses on the same clouds.

The idea is nice, though this game begs for some puzzles as another person mentioned. It can really be some cool gameplay if you will add puzzles.

The laser looks very cool. And overall it's a visually pleasing game. I also liked the hints on the walls - nice touch.

Oooh damn I made it. But it was really difficult haha.

I only think it's a bit unfair when I don't know if I will bump into something on next screen. Though maybe it's an idea that you should remember how it's all positioned after many tries.

Good job

Got 18 coins and jumped off the cliff

I liked it, the checkpoints are at perfect distances between each other. And I love controls and movement animations.

The only thing - the torch collides with a player sometimes and I fell off on spikes several times because I was standing on it.

Very nice entry!

Good job for 3 days. Nice assets also, good job.

Was not able to successfully roll under obstacles, but every time a very useful bug occured - I failed the run but continued running in the almost laying pose haha

Killed the Kraken!

Wanna say - very nice choice of background music, maybe I'd do it a liiitle bit louder.

It would be cool to return home after the fight, but I understand you had no extra time. I also think the tutorial part is mostly too early, like space to use light and I press space and don't understand why nothing happens. But anyway, its much better tutorial then in our game for sure haha

Got around 40 seconds of best time. Very simple and yet fun, good job!

It's a nice little game. Really wanted to finish it, but unfortunately it seems I got too excited throwing the matches around that by the end it made the game run in like 15fps, and I was not able to jump precisely and kept falling. I knew it could happen but for some reason kept throwing matches everywhere. I got past like 6-8 hedgehogs, I don't know how to tell where I stuck.

What I would definitely do is make the intro text faster, with a button to speed up the text, it feels a bit too long.

Aesthetics are great, loved the into cutscene VERY much, haha. Looks great. Some more clear feedback on damage-taking and damage-doing would be great, but overall it's already very nice little game.

Wow this is really cool,  I really loved it, not sure I saw something like that before. Got stuck on level 8. The sound of the black hole is very nice and pleasant. And overall mood, music, I love it.

Interesting concept. Sad there is no real game, but great idea, those mechanics really could work, it needs some very unique game as well.

Thank you! Not sure about polished though, wish we had more time, but thank you

I don't know if it's a bug or it should be like that, but while being marked as contributor to the game we submitted with a friend, I can't rate other games, it says I have not submitted anything. But when I leave a comment it clearly says "Submitted:..." under my comment. Is there something to do with it?

Yeah unfortunately thats the one of some bugs that somehow got to the final build - it can occure if you got some fps drops, and then its a soft lock

But thank you for playing

Really impressive, looks veery good. Probably my personal favorite on this jam

Had some random idea, to turn the main character into some kind of sorcerer, so the flying bow is actually magic flying bow. On the other hand if it's a sorcerer why need a bow at all.

yeah I would be happy to check the post-jam version out

Yeeeah it's very difficult. But damn it looks good. The main character is just lovely.

Very very cool and unique. It's actually full real game. Though I feel the connection to the theme is very loose. To the other comments I want to add, that maybe instead of sliders it would be interesting to adjust the slopes and players position by actually dragging it on the map, would be fun and intuitive (in my opinion)

Thank you! I worked on music, so means a lot.

Oh damn its a good game. But in it's current state, too hard, for me at least. I played like 10 times and got only to the third night, those flying flames...

Some balancing is definitely needed. Maybe even just adding more lives will do the work. Would be cool to have some music (by the way I really loved the sound effects, almost every sound has some very satisfying click in it). I think the light source should not be fixed in one place, because it works better when you run in one direction, but it is much worse when you run in other direction. Also it would be cool to have some more things to do at the day time. Actually there are probably a lot of things you can add to fill it with content. I don't mean add to make a good game, but I mostly mean like potential is pretty big. Some close combat would be cool too, maybe some traps (setting it at the daytime maybe? or maybe just dropping on the floor while running from enemies). Maybe some shield system, can be especially useful with those flying flames. And maybe not only a labyrinth, some open spaces.

Oh well yeah I know it's easy to fantasize without actually implementing anything, haha, sorry.

Anyway it was fun, I think I replayed this game more than any other from the jam.
