How does your game fit the theme?
You fly a helicopter through the clouds (Internet slang pun intended)

You have exhibited a huge amount of ambition in this project, and more importantly I think you've exhibited all the skills you'd need to get a project like this where you'd want it. At a basic level, everything works, it's really on theme, and highly original. I like how it links in directly wit the idea of servers and the fedi-verse, I think that's really clever.

😳☺️

Hm, my helicopter got stuck q_p

It is an interesting idea to help each other. I like it.

Nice concept and cool execution! It's on point for the theme and it's even about the fediverse. The flying physics felt hard to grapple with, especially for turns, but that might be just me. I managed to finish the easy mode on default settings just in time. That was fun!

I think i am bad at this game hahaha. I keep falling endlessly into a cloudless realm :D

Developer

Hm, difficult to say what's wrong. Perhaps you should try to keep the helicopter more upright. Or did you accidentally press E during flight?

Ohh thanks for the tip, keeping it more upright helped. Now I could complete some missions haha. Very nice wholesome vibe

I think it was the first game I tried around a week ago. Once you master the helicopter controls - it's actually fun to fly around. What's definitely cool is that you can configure everything before playing.

I think I cheated a bit non-intentionally, somehow most of the messages were sent to the houses on the same clouds.

Developer(+1)

Thank you 😊 Seems like you were lucky 😊. It always takes a random house from all in the whole game.

By the way, wanted to add. I'm not sure how difficult it is, but it would be cool if the fediverse was actually involved in the game. Like for example, you need to really mention some special profile on mastodon with a message and who to deliver it too. Then it appears in the game, and it can be delivered to the corresponding cloud(server), and then that special profile will send a real message to the recipient.

Well I'm sure you probably had that idea too, just wanted to tell it

Developer(+1)

That's a really cook idea 😊I had the idea to implement the real fediverse somehow, but because of the time limit I didn't think much about it, so Ididn't have that  idea. I only thought about including real accounts.

I pulled it off (with Python). If you want to take a stab at it, it would be my excuse to learn Godot :)

Sounds great. In that case I'll put it on open source. I wanted to do that, but I have to tidy the files up a bit and put a license on it first

Submitted(+1)

Looking forward to that. You can ping me here (I have e-mail notifications to notice them) or on https://fedi.jaenis.ch/@andre (I also am the person behind @games if you prefer that one).

Hey André, you can find the source at https://github.com/Doubi88/FediExpress. Have fun 😉 I'm looking forward to what you come up with 🙂

Checked the repository out and imported it into Godot v3.5.2. Godot informs me that your project was created with a newer version. Would you mind to share what version you used?

I can run another version in parallel.

Developer

Oh sorry, it was godot 4.3
