I would love to see it as an official game.

The combining of the elements to create new weapons is really compelling. Not a big fan of the core combat though, it can be frustrating if I've given myself equipment that can't move me very well. Looks amazing though!

Hi Jimmy,

Thanks for your feedback! I blanket buffed movement by about 1.5x, and changed the movement formula to be += item velocity instead of = item velocity (this way, you actually can get some acceleration from using items instead of them overwriting your movespeed). I'm uploading an update soon, so I hope this makes the combat feel a lot better :)

edit: The update is out. Let me know what you think!

Wow, very nice! Love the style and the game concept. Like others, I found movement to be frustrating.
Also it appears to be turn based? Wonder if it would feel better in true real-time.  Also would like some sort of indication of what each object does (damage, etc) once you've crafted it. Trial and error is fun, but only to a limit :D

Thanks tony! It's not actually turn based, but there are certain enemies who only start moving at you once you get within their range.

I've already increased the movement on each item considerably, so I think the game will feel a lot more smooth. We're still running with the "shoot to move" design choice, but that's definitely something we'll have to try to feel out.

As for knowing what items do - I actually have a stats page set up for each item but I haven't made it accessible yet, so that's coming soon :)

Excellent! I think it's a good design choice, given some tweaking. Look forward to trying the revised movement value version. Very original, and a game I intend to come back to....nice work :)

I like the art style and the design idea is a clever one... I found it difficult to position the character in a way that I couldn't take damage from the enemy projectiles, but I couldn't manage this in open areas of the map. Still, I had a cool UX and that's all that matters. Nice app! ^ ^

Thank you! There's definitely still lots to do in terms of balancing the game and making it feel better, but working for this jam gave us a great start. Looking forward to playing your game soon.
