I had no idea what was going on the beginning, but once I started playing and it became more of a standard platformer I had fun. The visuals are incredible, but for such a simple game the performance was terrible.  Whenever I collected coins, shot bullet, or was shot at by bullets the framerate sunk like a rock.  In the level with the cannons I was basically playing the whole level in slow motion. It's a cool game, I just think the menus and start could do with some streamlining, and the game could use a lot of performance tweaks.

Thanks! Yeah, a lot of people had the slideshow framerate drop, and that's probably because the game was on the browser, I made a download button below, but I exported the game to browser just because I knew not everybody was playing on mac, (I might make an update where you can turn off some stuff to make the game run better)

I wasn't sure how to get started at first, I just started typing random keys and suddenly the game worked. This was so trippy and awesome, I felt like I was experiencing what it would be like to be in a Black Mirror episode. Great job!

Wow, thanks! That's actually the way I planned people to learn the game, (but of course the brain doesn't work like that)

This was such an interesting concept ! Your visual effects and polish for this game was fantastic and I love the general creepiness of it. Very innovative !

Please check out my game ! :D Escape Path Beta

Nice job! You crafted a really engrossing atmosphere, and your visual effects were fantastic, lending the movement a real weightiness that felt very professional. I got stuck on one level with  a line of coins in an arc, which I couldn't jump past, but really great work!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, there is a way to get past, but I can't say much anyway. But yeah thanks for playing!

Cool game!  I really like the style, it's simple but the subtle gradients and bloom, plus the vibrant colors keep everything interesting and readable.  I also like the diegetic menus, especially since they also teach you about the portals safely.  Experimenting with the controls felt pretty natural too because of the way the initial levels present you with new challenges that coulnt be solved with out trying new things.  The bounce pads, specifically the high jump, did not feel very responsive to me.  I kept wanting to press jump when I hit it but that often didnt register and instead I to remember to just hold it mid air.  Also there was this strange drift where sometimes the character would keep walking right after I let go, it might be too sensitive or possibly not accounting for deadzones.  I was making my way through pretty well up until the level thats floor is entirely bounce pads.  (Im also bad at platformers XD).  Also super tiny thing but I'd love if the text messenger intro was an animated recreation of a messenger, I think that'd really be more cohesive with how stylish the rest of the game is.  Well done, the game feels really complete and polished!

Wow thanks! I know I thank people a lot but it's pretty helpful, also I'm going to try out your game because I saw some of your progress posts. (I haven't gotten around to seeing it for a while)
