  • Cool game ! Very good use of the theme, it's really all about the expand the balloon. Nice level design, nice introduction of mechanics and difficulty curve. The one thing I'd say is the lives really don't add anything to the game, I didnt even noticed I had lives actually before I lost the last one on level 10 when I pressed the red switch and died. I felt punished from discovering a new mechanic, if I wasnt judging I probably would've stopped right there. I eventually stopped at lvl 11 because I lost all my lives again. I'd suggest not doing that in futur gamejams, it's better for players to experience all of your game than forcing them start over, cause most player will just stop playing on their first game over. I'd even go the opposite route of giving a level select menu where you could select which level to play in case people are stuck. That being said, great game, was very interesting.

Very fun yet challenging game! I absolutely love the idea of this game as well as the interesting level designs.

Also, my score was 3:35, but that was because I failed so many times I kinda got used to it lol! But I really loved the challenging gameplay of it! I felt so achieved after I finally won the game wew!

Thank you! And well done, that's a good time!

I won in 5:06! That's a neat concept, and great work for your first jam! The timing was really tight in some levels like level 6, I lost a lot of lives and wished I didn't have to start over from the beginning, but since there are not too many levels it's nothing major. I also noticed that the buttons stay pushed after you lose a life.

I had fun and would have played more! 😁

Thank you for playing! Yea if I had more time I would've polished the difficulty and lives system for sure, I'll keep that in mind!

Fun little game. I wasn't expecting having to hit buttons with the balloon. The levels are interesting and unique. They are not too easy, but also not too hard.

It would have been cool though if the balloon actually started to float when expanded and go down when shrunk. The lives also could have been made to be per level instead, so you don't have to start from the beginning.

Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

Great game! More challenging than I expected. Good background music, very chill to listen to while I struggle to not pop the balloon lol

A unique and interesting take on a puzzle game with intuitive controls which are simple but satisfying to execute. The levels are a good difficulty and precisely designed so that it's challenging but not too frustrating.

Not sure if it's just me, but the menu screen start buttons aren't very responsive? Might be a lag. Great job overall!!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! Not sure about the menu buttons, I haven't ran into that issue 🤔

A pretty fun and unique take on the theme. It could've looked somewhat better (the flat grey blocks felt a little out of place) and there maybe could have been more levels, but even as is I think you got decent mileage out of the concept, so good job.

I sadly did not have time to polish the visuals, but thank you!!

It started to tricky in the later levels and ..... I LOVED IT!

Way to go on using the theme and making a cool puzzle game! I could do another 30 levels and let time pass!
Lots of fun!
Awesome Work!

Really liked the level design of the later stages. Wonder what else you could cook up if you ended up going back to this.

Solid concept, although the art is a little jarring, and the menu buttons seem to have weird collisions, still enjoyable tough.

Solid idea for a puzzle game and I REALLY dig the music.

The visuals however, are… a bit jarring. The spikes are really cool and detailed but every other stage piece is a gray block. If the spikes, the balloon and the skybox also used simple models, flat textures and similar shading the game would look a lot more visually consistent. The spikes unfortunately end up being a case of more is less.

Also maybe it’s only an issue for me but when the game loads initially, only a quarter of the screen is visible and the mouse is displaced. When I locate the fullscreen button by clicking around and then going back, the screen size gets fixed. This didn’t actually prevent me from playing the game when I figured out the fix so I am not really judging based on that.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm aware of the visuals not being great, I had to kind of rush my entry so I didn't have time to polish it. And weird...I thought I fixed the screen bug. It works fine for me in multiple browsers 🤔

The screen is too zoomed in, I can't see half the game

There is a fix that works for me. If you click somewhere in the lower middle portion of the window, you can end up triggering the fullscreen button. Then when you go back to windowed, the screen size is fixed.
