Notes (optional)
This is my first ever game jam! I decided to make something simple but hopefully fun. I created all my own assets, except for the music which was created by my son.

Great atmosphere.  Everything goes together really well.  Great first jam entry! Congratulations.

I love the idea of a stealthy-fish game, Sam Fisher, this game is very big on risk and reward.

The music and the minimalist art style are enjoyable.

Very fishy & a cool concept. Wish there were more mechanics! Great first game.

game is fun, though for some reason for me the graphics were blurry instead of crisp pixel art like in the screenshots (i still gave a high rating for visuals cause other than the glitch i had they look very cool)

Developer

I think I forgot to uncheck a box in the settings when I switched to the WebGL output option. I took the screenshots from before I switched that over.

My highest score was about 1500. I kept starving lol. Im glad the wiggly lines make more food over time instead of just once.

love the graphics, so retro

Really entertaining and simple, I like you remain on stealth after getting out of the seaweed, it balances the game pretty well

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I did my best to keep things super simple to avoid scope creep. I'm glad you like it!

I really liked the general idea and the dynamic of having to feed while also hiding. The bubbles are a really cool mechanic and with some balance I think it could definitely be expanded. Generally I found the game quite hard (I'm a pretty bad player tho, so maybe it's just me). The music is really cool! Maybe some sound effects could help with gameplay feedback tho.

Congrats on the release!

Developer

Thanks! It's an arcade-style game, so it's definitely designed to be difficult. It could use a little more balancing, or maybe some optional difficulty settings.

Congratz on your first game jam ! You did very well. I like the art, it's nice and working very well. Hope you add a lot of fun during your jam.

Please also congratz your son for the music, very nice. Good job to both of you.

I like the bubbles that float off you as you move! They remind me of Conrad’s Game of Life. The food is a bit hard to see. I’m not sure if this was intended, but when I started playing I didn’t get the tutorial level right away, I only got it after a few deaths.

Developer

Thanks! The bubbles were one of the first things I implemented, and are an important aspect of the stealth system.

The food is hard to see, the audio is REALLY LOUD.

Developer

That's weird. It seemed the same on various computers at home, and over headphones. Thanks for commenting!

I like the game, but the food is a bit hard to see. Maybe making it a different color would have made it easier to spot, especially considering everything else is black and white (I do like the are style)

Developer

Thanks! I definitely wanted to stick to just the two colors, but there's probably some way I could make the food more visible
