It's an interesting idea, and I love the sorts of structures you can build.

What I find really odd is the concept that the ants will only target the oldest block you selected, and that the ants can't really walk through each other. Because what happens is that once you have more than 30 or so ants, they start piling up, and adding more ants doesn't really get much faster.

I've found the most efficient way to use the ants is to ignore the normal anthill shapes and just expand the cavern out wider and wider in a big square, so there's as much room as possible for the ants to walk past each other. But even then, there are times where the ants just stay in once place, waiting for the ants in front of them to finish collecting their blocks before stepping in. And ants still have to go back to the top of the map to deposit what they picked up, which always causes pileups.

Unfortunately, the game isn't as much of an RTS as it could be because there's no way to assign separate groups of ants to different tasks, and it's not as much of an idle clicker game as it could be because of all the waiting around that the ants do.

Maybe there could be a feature where ants go to the nearest selected block instead of the oldest selected block?

I love the sound design!

Very interesting game. I love the concept and would love to try a version with maybe more challenges and game mechanics?

Awesome job!

I got taken by the game! I love ants

Very promissing game! With large number of ants they block each other and their movement is completely off

A pleasant little idle-type game, but the fps slows down around 100 ants and the ants begin to have trouble pathing past each other. You can draw out a map that takes them a very long time to actually dig such that I never actually waited for the whole thing to get built.

Still it’s strangely alluring, and makes you want to start over and half-build something new.

Fun game, I would love to play a more fleshed out version!

The thing that I miss the most is that each ant should get an own task. Right now all ants are always going to one single block, which wastes a lot of time (so most of the ants are not doing anything)

Quite simple but still fun watching your base grow from one hole to a giant ant city.

I just spent my stream playing this game! I actually really enjoyed it. I started trying to find a way to beat my record time for 100 ants, 1000 dirt, and 100 (total) food. This game is simple yet so charming and it's definitely worth giving it a shot. Maybe someone could beat my personal record (6:30;54)? Thanks for this game guys, great work!

Had fun with this :) As others said, simple but nice implementation. I would love to see ants going about digging blocks in parallel, rather than all ants going to the block I've just clicked in.

I am biased, however, since our submission to this Jam has an eerily similar concept :D

Haha, if I had a windows machine I would have loved to test and see how our games compare, despite that, thanks for the feedback, thanks for playing, and good luck to you in the Jam! :D

I like the idea but the fact that the ants can only dig one block at a time makes it take too long and it becomes pointless to have too many ants as many just end up sitting around waiting.

Simple yet very fun concept. The collision works really well when the ant colony is medium sized, you need to make sure that tunnels are wide enough to fit the swarm of ants going back and forth.  Once I got to more than 100 ants, many ants would cluster into balls even though the tunnels were large enough and some of them would stay idle. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it a lot, its very satisfying to watch your army of ants dig a network of tunnels.

Thanks for the feedback! Its seems like the downloadable version runs with less clumps better, but its another bug we're definitely looking into improving! Thanks for playing!

Awesome game I love it ! The graphics are very clean and the gameplay is cool !
What I like most is that we can draw our ant hill, watch the ants build it and then leave for a little while and come back to see the ant hill evolve, the game lives without us in a way and that's really cool ! : D

But you have to be careful not to make the way too small, otherwise there will be traffic jams! ^^

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!!
