Been a long time since I played such a challenging platformer!

The jump feels amazing, and the coloring for double jump and dash on enemies really brings some nice contrast towards the black and white graphics!

I didn't manage to complete the last level, but the difficulty and level design were great as it was gradually introduced, giving you the sense that it's possible to complete!

Great job!

Thank you for the kind words and the feedback! Seems you got pretty far! Nailing down how difficult the game should be was a major challenge for my entry, especially across a wide variety of players' skill levels. It's good to know that you still had a good experience despite not completing the final level. Cheers!

Fun game!

Nice game, quite a challenge! The levels are pretty unforgiving, so it's nice that the death and restart is so quick!

I could not keep my cool.

Looks nice and audio is amazing. I am not an epic gamer so I feel like having lives would make game less frustrating but the theme is keep your cool so it works.

Thank you for trying it out. Although the game is difficult and there's certainly an element of keeping your cool as you retry tricky maneuvers, the true cliche that I took inspiration from was the well-known trope of stomping on enemies to defeat them. Mario style. In any case, thank you for the feedback!

This is one good platformer. It is really precise, and I like that little pause. I thought I wouldn't see anything like this.

Very nice job.

I love platformers and even more than that; I love hard platformers!

The gameplay was a lot of fun. I do feel like it would've been nice of the dash responded just a tad bit quicker. The colour coding for different abilities was genius. The art was very simple, but did exactly what it had to do! Level design? Loved it!

Thank you for your submission!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I do think the dash could have used a few tweaks and polish, but time constraints deprioritized it. Thanks for playing!

The jumping feels great, but quite hard to get into.

Similar things. Great game. I appreciate getting some familiarity with the controls to begin with and that when I die it's not painful to try again. I like the choice with the sprites too. They go well with the sound. And the 'sploding - so dramatic! Fun!

Thank you for the kind words and for trying out the game!

Wow I did it! 102 deaths. I'm a huge fan of these types of challenging platformers. My entry is one, however yours did a better job at keeping levels short. I died a lot, but it didn't feel like I was losing progress because the levels were so well condensed. The curve of the difficulty felt pretty spot on too! Definitely one of my favorites from the jam!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words. I will need to check your entry out then!

Amazing entry! It's rare for a jam game to have such tight controls, I never felt once that a death I got wasn't my fault, bravo! Even before I saw the description of the game being inspired by Mario and Celeste it was easy to tell, and I mean that in a good way, it's not an easy feat to emulate their movements but you did it! Will admit, got stuck at the part with the chainsaws where you had to mix the tap and hold jumps but that's just purely cause of my lack of skill.

One tip I can think of to give is on the level where you introduce the jumping pads, if you miss to get the jump you don't automatically die but are stuck so you have to go in the spikes to restart. I feel that it would be a better experience to either have the player automatically die in a situation like that or in this case since it's an introduction to a new interactable, to have it stay instead of it disappearing. But yeah, honestly this isn't that big of a gripe, well done :)

Thank you for the kind words and the feedback! Yes, it's a difficult game. To be honest, it could use some kind of assist mode!

I love how you guide players through the mechanics of the game, it's worth learning
