Really good game !

Simple and yet addictive ! It's like a tower defense without attacking at all.
The way of playing is well introduced with dialogues. It's underrated in game jam so congrats on doing it ! Looks like you put a lot of efforts on monsters and cards. So the game isn't repetitive in the early levels.

I didn't made past level 9 tho. Pretty sure I didn't reroll enough with all my gold.

Side note: I don't know if there is a way to increase the number of action per turn, but I managed to buy a card with 4 action points when I only had 2 available. I don't know if it's something intended but it's a bit frustated when I tried to play it.

Site note 2: I had to download it. The web version wasn't working in firefox.

Again good submission !

I had a lot of fun with this one! I liked the card concepts and some of the descriptions cracked me up.

Merry Christmas to all GameOff 2022 competitors! Here's mine gameplay of Graveyard Shift!

Man this was so much fun to play

Interesting game with many possible interactions between the different cards, it makes you always plan ahead. Looks polished, both in sound and UI. Great game!

This is probably the first game on this Jam I played more than one hour.

I made a recording too: https://youtu.be/AxOvgCvU1BE

Note that I had to split it into more than one part. :D

Some random thoughts:

  • The game looks so good! But some assets look more polished than the others. Or maybe it’s just me.

  • Perhaps the “undo turn” button would be useful. I found myself in a brain fart situation where I saw a better move a second after I committed to something sub-optimal.

  • I wish I could grab all the treasures! I think it’s hard to beat the game from one sitting and manage to collect 100% treasures at the same time.

  • I enjoyed the mechanics like pushing the enemy into the pit with a gust card. Feels great.

  • That caterpillar is so OP! xD

  • It’s quite easy to fell into off-by-1 mistakes in this game. I miscalculated the adventurer movement a couple of times because of that. Maybe the game could give a hint which rout would they take and how many tiles they’ll traverse? It looks like opening the treasure takes 1 action, so they’ll move 1 tile after that. It’s not always easy to keep in mind. The other case is “turns remaining”. Maybe some indication about the turn being the last one would be useful. Because when you see “1” it might mean “you need to survive for 1 more turn after this” or “this is the last turn”.

  • I wish there was some infinite mode or any other way to continue playing. AFAIK, all levels were hand-crafted and it’s a good thing from one point of view. But it limits the replayability a little bit.

  • After the victory credits, pressing the play button crashed the game

I’m interested to see the expanded version of the game. A few improvements here and there, more game content, replayability (or an infinite mode) and it will be a solid game I could consider purchasing.

Fantastic entry! It was incredibly fleshed out and polished it, played it for a solid while but gave up at the level with the 6 blobs. I am sure the idea is that you can restructure your deck once you see the actual level so that it's more fair but if that's the case, it would be nice to be able to see the layout for the next level before you make your deck and start it so that you can optimize your deck for that level from the start instead of having to start the level, see what it is and then make a deck for it.

But that's a small complaint for such a well thought and visually impressive game for a jam, incredible job! I even recognized badcop from their game on the last ludum dare ^ ^

A really well thought out game. It's some nice mechanics and you presented it well with the sounds and graphics. There's so much potential to twerk some of the cards, monsters, etc. Well done!

This is cool!

Love the graphics and the gameplay mechanic of mixing tower defense and cards <3. Main music can get a bit repetitive tough. You should definitely make it a mobile game
