A cool game with some fun surreal visuals.

For game balance, one suggestion - there should be a tower that has higher range. Once the tree started growing, it was basically useless to put new plants at the tips of the roots, because there were huge gaps between the "spokes" that the humans could just walk through. So I ended up crowding all my units near the trunk where they were guaranteed to hit the humans.

If we're going to have gaps like that, there should be a longer range (but weaker? more costly?) unit, which could add more strategy on what to build and where.

Thank you so much for playing and your Suggestion!

We actually had the idea to add a feature that allows the player to plant extra roots between the others manually. These extra roots could've than be used to change the moving direction of enemies, to reach special locations like lakes ( also not yet implemented, but they should give the main tree some specialabilities) and also to build towers on them more dense in the far distance of the main tree.

But yeah, more towers are already im the making :P

Have a great one!

Nice tower-defense style game.  Only real issue that I had was trying to place the units on the roots at the beginning.  I didn't know I was supposed to put them on the roots and they could be hard to click early on.

It look so cool!

Cool idea!

The only problem I can see is that I didn't feel challenged. I just place the strongest turret all the time and it felt like I was only waiting for the next wave to arrive. I never really felt treatened. Maybe making the game a little more balance to add challenge would be a good idea.

Other than that, menus are nice, the visual are nice (tho a little dark) and the Wilhelm screams are funny.

Keep it up!

Thanks for playing and your great feedback!

The balancing is something that is on the top of our To-Do-List right now, and also adding more towers with different effects on enemies :)

It's innovative! I like the mechanics for sowing in the roots. The graphics are nice, and the growth animation is very beautiful.

Don't forget to set a frame rate limit. My GPU goes to 100% usage without limits.

Developer

Good point! We definitely should add that

Thank you for checking it out

Hey, well done on the game! The concept for the game was quite funny, but also really well presented. The simple shading style on the models looked pretty nice, and I like that the overall world wasn't overly complicated and drew attention to the tree as the centerpiece of the game. The audio was also hilarious, did get a chuckle out of the Wilhelm scream in there.

I enjoyed how you were able to continue placing down plants as the round progressed to deal with the concentrated areas in the waves, though it seemed like maybe the tree should grow at the end of the round and not the beginning? Felt a bit odd to introduce new placement spots after spending the preparation time placing stuff down, though I suppose those new areas could be used to place things during the wave.

I'll also throw out kudos for the user interface - the art for it is great and thematic to the rest of the game. Good job!

Thank you for checking it out!

Now that you mention it, growing at the end of an wave might be more fun. We'll check that out!

Glad to hear at least the sounds gave you a chuckle, we were short on time for balancing, so we hoped it'll be at least a bit funny.

It is an interesting approach to tower defense  and actually could be a very good game with a theme and very good animations.

Placing towers to roots were very hard at the start. I would prefer if we could just plant in the green area.

I did not get what the middle 3 buttons were doing.

I am not sure where I get this score too.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

We planned to be able to place roots yourself and maybe have abilities that interact with the green area. For now its really just random afterall.
So uh that score, when did you get it? 500  should be a lose screen.
Winning is done by finishing the last wave

The buttons definetly need a tutorial then

I get it when  I finished the game. I did not even think it was possible to lose :) Tree was doing a fine job killing most of the monster.

Developer

Maybe im mixing things up right now then how the score is calculated, we played around with that after submitting

My beautiful tree! Lousy humans. Why can't they go hang out in their cities?

Nice work. Pretty fun once it got going, but I admit it took a minute for it to click. I liked the shading technique you employed in the graphics dept.

Hey, I have to show you a game I made earlier this year because, I don't know, there's just a striking similarity somehow and I always get a kick out of seeing that. Take a look when you have the chance sometime
