Wow, really interesting concept, nice aesthetics, but a bit frustrating mechanics,  it would be so good if you could drop notes so they won't interrupt. Also i couldn't complete lvl 15, because i couldn't bring note to the last bouncy thing.

Best game out of those i have played so far

Developer(+1)

To an extent, the idea was that part of the puzzle is figuring out how to bring the notes places without accidentally putting them in the wrong spot, or without blocking yourself from continuing (seen as early as level 2). But if that's too annoying, we should probably rethink that.

This is a really interesting concept and the art fits the game wonderfully. Unfortunately It is a bit hard to understand though and I got stuck in the bear level. But overall I really dig the game's atmosphere and I enjoyed playing it. Great work!

Developer

For level 3, you need to run onto the timpani to beat it - here's a walkthrough if you're interested!

The game is actually very interesting but mechanics and level design did not match up.

In your actual solution video solutions feels they are more like a speed run hack.

Also showing colors order in game play would be good so we can know which color is making things longer/higher than the other.

Developer

I assume you're talking about things like level 3? I mean, the run button is there. I guess we could remove the run button if it makes certain puzzle solutions feel too speedrun hack-y?

Submitted

Yes and some other ones too. I think the problem comes from the design of the level. For example on level 3 maybe going up somewhere and falling down to the other side would make more sense?   I am not a level designer and puzzle design is actually very hard.

Developer

I understand what you're saying, and especially for these early levels there should be designs where you don't need to use the run button to complete the puzzle - but then, later levels that require the run button will be much more confusing due to never introducing the mechanic, and at that point we should just cut the function out entirely.

The level with the rebounding harps was pretty hard to navigate because I would accidentally bounce off them instead of changing their notes. The background music got a little in the way of trying to hear the correct notes so I ended up turning it down.

My favorite game jam entry so far.

Developer

Glad you liked it!!! Yeah, the level with the rebounding harps is supposed to be a little bit silly (just like the level where the floor is timpanis), hopefully that didn't go too far into being annoying...!

Really well made game! And extremely unique. I did struggle a little bit to figure out what I was supposed to do at first, and although I appreciate the “how to play” page I would probably have suggested some sort of on-screen instructions for the first level. I myself am very much guilty of not providing users enough on-screen info and noticed it here as well. Great game though, I had a lot of fun playing!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, the hope was that with there only really being two objects to interact with in level 1, it could be done with just experimentation, but later versions could maybe have a "talking flower" character so to speak lol

I understand how your game matched the theme, the idea and innovation is the best I have seen. The mixture of the graphics and music was also pretty good.

Developer

Thank you, glad you liked it!

Submitted

Welp, I couldn't get past the bear + berry level. Do you have a walkthrough?

Developer

No walkthrough, but remember that you can press shift to run. If you're really stuck on the level, you can always skip to the next level & return to that one later!

Developer(+1)

If you're still looking for a walkthrough, I recorded one!

Nice. Thanks

At first I was a bit confused, but as soon as I noticed how the notes were interacting with all the puzzles it became super appealing! I really like your puzzle designs with rhythms and brass instruments etc.! Great game!

Developer

Thank you! Is there anything you'd want added to the first couple levels to make it easier to understand the main puzzle mechanics?

Submitted

Maybe a complete step-by-step walkthrough on the first level! So everything else becomes more intuitive afterwards.

Submitted(+1)

First off, thanks for the tongue-twister!
Graphics-wise this is very visually appealing, and we enjoyed how the instruments interacted with the environment. One thing we would have liked is more variation in the music, and more adaptive sound design - for example horn sound effects in key of the track when interacting with the instruments.

Solid job!

The issue is that the note matches with the color - middle C is always red, G will always be green, etc. If that gets changed, it could make the puzzle more confusing to solve.

The music is in the key of C so the notes should mostly line up, but some more tracks would be nice! And it could be interesting to just change the chord progression of the song depending on how you solve the puzzle...

Very cute! Made it up to level 7 before I unfortunately got stuck in the wall lmao. She;s just perpetually jumping.

Developer

Ah, must be an issue with the harp's collision... it should be fairly simple to restart or skip the level if you do want to keep playing!

Cute game with a really likable main character design. It was a bit hard to play though; I often got stuck and was unsure of what to do. I skipped a few levels, but the ones I did understand were pretty fun.

Developer

Glad to hear you liked it! Out of curiosity, which levels did you get stuck on?

Submitted

level 1, 3, and i think 6

You would get a lot more reviews if you added web support BTW.

Developer

I think it's a bit late for web support. It's also a whole other slate of debugging - Unity's webgl has fallen off a lot in reliability lately, I haven't been able to run any webgl games in the jam so far on any browser

Fun puzzle game the music was nice but the puzzles got a little complicated. nice interpretation of scale

Developer

Thank u!!! Would you say there was an issue with the difficulty curve, or was it just the later levels that got difficult?

Submitted

a bit of both
