Beautiful game. I love the old style graphics and enemies and camera effect. The combat feels good if not a little simple, I kited my way through all encounters. The level textures could have used a little more as I constantly felt slightly lost. I enjoyed the sound a lot the walking sound was great and the attack sounds were good, the music was fun and swapping music during combat was fun. The overall movement pace felt good, not too fast not too slow. I picked up an electronics thing? That couldn't attack well and I managed to swap back to the sword but could never get back to the object. Also I found if you hit 'T' you go into some weird mode, I think I messed with that too much and lost the ability to attack and then died. Overall a really solid game, huge levels, fun combat.
I like the vibe, sound design, and how the combat feels! I ended up getting to what I'm assuming is the last boss (the tall mage with a mask) and they did not aggro and could not take damage. I think that the hidden wall mechanic could have been communicated better in game, I believe it's only communicated on your jam page and that's the only reason I started checking out the walls. Additionally, it was a little difficult to tell what exactly the levers were opening, if that's intended that's fine but I found myself just walking around pulling them and not hearing a sound cue or anything that would indicate something changed. Overall I think this was a pretty fun experience, really liked slashing through the skeletons.
The problem with the boss is most probably fixed now. Try it out!
The character art was nice and the overall PS1-style game graphics had a nice spooky atmosphere. The sword gameplay was nice. I was hoping I could parry but it didn't seem possible.
I found the puzzle aspect a bit unclear; although that may just be me.
The music was cool. Real, atmospheric and I liked how it changed dynamically for different scenarios.
Nice submission.
Hey thanks for playing! The first hidden lever was unfortunately hard locked behind a little bug, but its fixed now. Keep your ears open for a subtle hum and you should be able to progress further, there is another area and even a boss fight waiting at the end :)
I'll check it out again.
