BUG FIXES
03 DEC 2024: Actually fixed that critical bug this time. vvvvvv
02 DEC 2024: Fixed a critical bug that was causing a soft-lock in the second to last area.
Theme interpretation
We originally wanted to create a game with a "secret society" and ended up loading up the game with secret doors, puzzles, and spells hidden throughout the map, all supplemented by the narrative we tried to weave. Did we mention there are three endings??
We wanted the player to be able to enter "cheat codes" in the main hub to unlock spells at anytime during the game, as long as they know the correct sequence. This can help lead to speed running strats of inputting the exact spells you want and blasting through the enemies to get to the end of the game as fast as possible.
Wildcards used (optional)
Let players break the rules with things like infinite lives or invincibility
Make time the enemy

This was a fun ride! The gravity well + lightning was a killer combo! I really dig the kind of games where the answer is in front of you the whole time. This played well, because after I died I was able to re-learn the spells I remember. I think you had an opportunity to lean hard into this, where instead of gathering the potions each play through, you could progress by using a spell instead. That would've removed the need for a checkpoint system entirely. But anyway, this was put together real well. All the art & polish really paid off. Good work
I think having a spell instead of potions would have been a great idea, good suggestion. Thank you for playing!
Wow, stunning work, the game was really lengthy and super enjoyable. Seeing someone else use alchemical symbols was cool! Did you make all those enemies and spells in a month? If so impressive work (still without it).
The comments about the lightning spell are true, I did enjoy the black hole a tone though.
Best of luck I hope you guys stick together.
everything was indeed made in a month, although we used mostly marketplace assets for the art. Thank you so much for playing!
Was talking to a friend about your game and we got curious what assets you used? They were really well put together we were impressed they weren't custom (good job)
mostly dark and darker assets. The cave troll, skeleton army pack, and medieval armor pack are the main 3 that come to mind. And another monsters pack that's not in DaD. Most of the animations are from the animals beast heroes pack or something, and the first person mage animations pack. The UI and wall art/end game screens were hand made
The game is fun! The length of the game is impressive. You want to find all the spells. The lightning spell is very satisfying!
Even if the game is hard, it's still pretty well balanced too. I had to go over it several times. It would be interesting to have checkpoints so that you don't have to redo everything when you die. The code system is interesting, I like the idea, at least you can find all your spells quickly if you die. The mystery and secrets are there! Well done!
I'm glad you enjoyed our game! The checkpoint system was almost done but we had to fix a lot of other things and ran out of time before we could implement it. I agree though, it would save a lot of time. Thank you so much for playing!
This game is amazing! The best part is definitely the level design—it's incredibly well-crafted, on par with major projects! I was genuinely impressed by the game overall, especially the final boss fight. The atmosphere is fantastic, and I played through it all in one go. There were moments that really kept me on edge! Excellent work!
To be honest with you, when we saw the levels for the first time ourselves, we too were in disbelief. Our level designer really went above and beyond.
Thank you so much for playing, we tried real hard to create a really good experience.
Thank you for the kind words, I'm really happy you had a good time with the project!
The game looks amazing,I don't know how did you even made this job in a month.
thanks so much for playing!
Fun game that is high quality for the time it took to make
Thanks for playing our game! The team worked really hard to make it as high quality as possible
It’s been fun battling hordes of enemies! The variety of spells is great, and searching for them throughout the level adds an interesting touch. However, I sometimes struggled to figure out how to progress... like in the large door before the boss, as it doesn’t follow the same color code (green). I also like how the entire level is connected to the main room, and how you return to it often to get new spells. That said, I did miss having a checkpoint system… I’m not very good at these games and died several times! 😅 Great work, thank you for the experience!
We had a checkpoint system 75% of the way done but needed to fix other things before we got it fully implemented. Disappointing, but I think the game is in a better place because of that sacrifice. Thank you so much for playing!
Wow. It's rare to see a game this large in a jam. But I can see how you guys used every resource properly. A couple of times in combat I started reflexively pressing my skyrim hotkeys, and forgot I was playing a different game. That had to have been one of your influences right? I did collect all spells but the last, but that's okay, I got an egg friend to make up for it. There were quite a few enemies, but though I wish I was their greatest enemy, it was instead their pathing, which can usually easily get me away, and with a little patience and a LOT of lighting bolts, I made it through. I did use the other spells, but when you give someone something that's better in a lot of ways than other spells, it's hard to make yourself use those instead. This was a great game and bigger than expected. Good job team!
I agree the lightning spell is really strong, we wanted to make sure players could complete the game without finding a single other spell, just in case! Thank you so much for playing!
