This is a cool game with a unique concept that I haven't really seen before.

To be honest, even though a lot of people in comments below seem to have had some trouble with the waypoint system, I thought it was pretty self explanatory and intuitive. I will say that this game is pretty darn hard (at least for my monkey brain) and I did have trouble beating the blue team in the second level, but it does feel like the sort of thing where I could find different strategies the more I played with it. That being said, I thought it was very fun. Switching between command mode and ship mode was really exciting even when I was losing.

Great job dev, this has the bones of something that could be massive after the jam :)

Great concept, and maybe not the type of game that I'm used to playing, but I think with a little more time I could get into it. As mentioned in the comment section, I had trouble figuring out the waypoint system.

My brain is too smooth to beat the AI. That being said, the AI implementation is pretty neat to have for a month long jam.

RTS games are a bit too chaotic for me but I can definitely see the appeal. I think there is a good mix of genres here (RTS + Space shooter).

this is a nice idea, mixing strategy into an otherwise arcade-style game. I like the waypoint system but I think it needs to be explained better in the tutorial and highlighted with visual cues when you set the waypoints. Once I did figure out how to use it, it felt nice flanking the enemy or distracting the circle of laser ships so we can pick them off one by one. The overheating mechanic adds good anti-spam but I do think it can be balanced better with enemy health and weapon damage. I also didn't feel like thinking so I just bought the standard ship every single level and it worked out most of the time hahah, so overall balancing is in order. The sound effects are cool, so are the ships.  I did notice my game would lag severely when I had like 34 ships shooting a shit ton of bullets, but that's probably related to me playing in browser mode.

I didn't beat the giant at the end unfortunately but I did have fun playing. I think if you improve the movement (imo moving and shooting in the same direction does not leave room for skillful play) and balance, and also polish command mode, you'd have a really nice game in your hands. You're on the right path.

Keep up the good work!

I'll be honest, there was a lot to read for instructions, so I didn't get it much. Art looks good and the movement was nice.

I was not able to figure out the waypoint system either. The first level with 1 enemy was easy, in the second one I bought 3 ships. 2 of them went off alone without following waypoints and were obliterated. Then the 5 enemies killed me.

Developer

Sorry about that! If you shift click you can select multiple enemies to follow a waypoint. You can also just click on an enemy and then click on the first waypoint in a path to have it assigned to that. I recommend giving the other two friendly ships waypoints and then right clicking the third to control and do a flank or other method to try to catch the enemies off guard. Thanks for playing our game, we will be getting to yours as soon as our schedule allows!

I was trying to figure out how the waypoint system works. But after going through the tutorials I was still lost on how it works or what you're supposed to be doing, I even tried to assign ships to waypoints and planned out a route but the ships wouldn't respond. The flying and shooting is cool and fun to control on the other hand and the graphics are ok.

Hey thanks for giving our game a try. We are sorry to hear that it was confusing for you. I think it sounds as if the waypoints in the tutorial are bugging out for you.( I have tested this and confirmed there is an issue with the waypoints in the tutorial- to fix it simply click a ship and click the first waypoint to have it follow it-the first ship you try this on will hit the first waypoint and then stop for some reason. The rest should work. This is not an issue during the levels for some reason.) It also sounds like you didn't find the level one button at the end of the tutorial. This is where the game starts and allows you to fight enemies. Sorry this bug happened to you and I hope this clears things up! (if you wish to try again and have more questions let us know)

Cool gameplay! I feel like there is a lot of potential for this to be expanded upon!

nice game, but its hard xd

At first, I had hard time to understand how flying pattern works and is assigned. Sometimes its hard to understand which ship is assigned to which route/pattern. Switching between flying mechanic and tactical map is really nice.
