Hey, did you get my email asking to get in touch to redeem the prizes you won?

Developer

Hey End3r, I didn't see the email. I'll check again.

Found it, I just responded to the email!

I love the visuals of this game, the intro and the theme. The gameplay really doesn't deliver though. You clearly went overkill with the intro animation and the visuals, but you should always put the gameplay at the forefront in a game. Seems like you poorly implemented the AI, the collisions, and the game overall.

Piece of advice: always develop the gameplay first, and when the game is fun to play then focus on the visuals and everything around it. Often times you will notice the game is not fun, and have to go back to the drawing board to think of a different game loop.

Don't let the scoring system of this jam fool you. the gameplay is not 20% of what makes a good game, its 60% of it, and even more. Visuals are important because they will decide if someone tries your game, but the fun gameplay is what is gonna make them stay.

Anyway, congrats on your first submission ever to a game jam!

edit: I tried the version on 4EVERLAND and after you press play, the screen goes black, and the debugger says :

TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'setPosition')

Thanks for the  constructive criticism!  Yea,  this was the first time I ever really completed anything, and I've never implemented difference scenes until now, or AI. Actually the game was never intended to have AI, until the last 2 days of the jam I decided I had to cut my first idea, and simplify down. But really I should have realized that sooner so I could have made it much better.  For sure a lesson learned!  But I'm also just impressed with myself because what took weeks before to do, I did like 1-2 days of mad typing.  So it kinda showed me that sometimes development can  be fast.  Since its a jam, I cant make improvements yet, but    I would fix the AI and implement all the gameplay abilities and moves (ball curving, special hits, better movement animation) multiplayer etc. Hopefully I can one day show you the real vision of what this game is supposed to be!!

What a presentation! Between the intro video and the main track it really got me amped up to play RAWball!

The actual gameplay is decent, but quite good if this is your first complete game! I'm sure you know the  main issues already. Great work and entry for gamedev.js!

Love the introduction video.

The gameplay reminded me on something I tried two years ago: https://ryuno-ki.itch.io/bizarros-basketball-x

However, it feels like whoever touches the ball last can simply push the ball (and the opponent) into the goal …

Nice game! I really liked the graphics, music and sound effects. I loved the gameplay.

I've realized a bug (well, I think): the ball doesn't kick on the field borders, it gets through it. Also do the players.

Awesome game! Congrats!

Great visuals, and user feedback. The game has a 100% win rate by just moving forward, but with some extra work on the AI, I think this could be a fun game. I love how you put the scoreboard above each player’s goal. Definitely something I want to copy to my own entry (post jam.)

Great visuals and audio. I found out quickly that you can just push the ball inside of the computer's paddle and it would almost always score a goal for me.

Loved the art, that entrance to the game is insane! When the game was working it was alot of fun, however I was easily able to win every round by just holding "d" + the space ball as if you touch the ball first you can push the ball into the enemy and the enemy then glitches back into its own goal.

Haha, yea I know. I didn't have enough time or knowledge on how to quickly fix it! The AI is extremely robotic, which is why having robots makes it seem sorta ok maybe lol

Thanks for visiting my game jam submission!

The initial idea for this game was a full on multiplayer 1v1 pong-like game with powerups, and special moves. Of course, as this was my first game jam, I  had too large a scope for my game idea.

Toward the end I added web monetization, but I didn't fully bug-test the case when a user does not have web monetization running, so  it might be buggy!

Anyway,  I'm glad to be part of this jam with all the amazing developers and artists here! I can't believe how much I learned..  Hope we all  can    build the games of our dreams!
