Great artwork! Gave me Spelunky vibes. While the jump and movement felt a bit stiff, the game's idea of dodging "gold" is a great one. I noticed that the third level took a while in instantiating any enemies, which gave me a free pass to head over to the fourth level; not sure, if the timer on the third level was delayed a little to long there. Otherwise, I like that the enemies are instantiated from multiple angles, adding some difficult in how to maneuver around them in accordance to the platforms available. I do wonder if it would have been assign preset movement patterns, as I noticed the enemies would come from multiple angles, but would target the player based on their current location on screen; so, it is possible to manipulate. Nevertheless, this was fun to play and survive for 80 seconds onto the fifth level.
Amazing visuals. Nice music. Loved the smoothness of the game.
Great submission, love the music and the art and pretty much everything. Well done
So there's more than just the three platforms from the beginning? I never lasted longer than maybe the third enemy...
And while moving left and right with the gamepad (PS3 controller) works fine, I couldn't find any button on it working for the jump. It was really frustrating until I happened to discover the double-jump feature by chance...
Wow, I love the art work kudos to the artist really nice job!
Gameplay was okay, took me a minute to work out I just had to dodge the enemies.
Enjoyed this, nice game, well done!
The art work in this and the intro comic book style story being portrayed is absolutely fantastic. Great job to everyone involved. I played it tonight on my livestream and if you wanted to see the replay you can check it out here.
Hi @Metalstorm! Thanks for playing our game and sharing it into your livestream (you got a new sub!). We wrote down your feedback and we'll use it to improve the game!! I agree with you about the game over screen transition and positioning, hadn't noticed it before.
Awesome game. Yea those few little things can make it a bit smoother I think and just have more of a "feel"
Beautiful artwork! Simple and straight to the point game. Great submission!
The art is AAA, someone should be hiring you.
You really need to explain the double jump, I nearly gave up and if it wasn't for the comments below I would have. Once I learnt the double jump I really enjoyed the gameplay though.
I think you need to be a little clearer to the player as to where the collision point is. Is it the edge of the light circle for the creatures? Of course experimenting helps with that, but maybe make it clearer?
Hi, @MarcusFromOz! Thanks for the feedback, the double jump alert fix is under development right now. Nice point about the collision, we will try to make it clearer (maybe showing an example in a picture). :)
Yeh thats what I was thinking too, or maybe by having 2 colliders (you would have 1 already so maybe 1 more) that when you get close to being in danger there is some noise (kinda like lightning crackling) but when you hit the fail collider it gives a sharp noise, so its really clear where the boundary is.
Very good intro! No need for a word and the history was totally clear! The movements were a little difficult at the beginning (the double jump). Once understood, it was fun to play! Good work!! (I would like to see it expanded with more platforms levels after the jam...)
GAME OVER XD
Nice game :) I like the visual and the soundtrack! I few more moves to dodge would be awesome
Controls were a bit wonky. Took me a few tries to realize needed to double jump to make it to other platforms. The look and animation is great. Is the character a custom asset that you guys created?
Yes! We are a team of one programmer and one artist, and all the code and artwork for the game was done by us in the Game Jam period.
For programming we use Unity, for art we use Krita and Blender, which are two open source software :)
Thanks for the feedback!
Am I missing something? I can't even jump to the other platforms or over enemies....
This game looks really pretty though! The main character animation is really nice, and while the opening was a little long, it was really well executed and felt really good with the accompanying music. Well done!
Ah, the game has double jump! We ended up forgetting to tell on the controls screen, sorry.
We plan to fix this as soon as Game Jam is done, thanks for the feedback!
Hi CFHM, try double jumps! :)
I cant do more than 80 sec! Very fun game I really like it!
The music, I was feeling like I was playing geometry dash XD
The intro, absolutely stunning. Very beautiful art.
What a great art work!!
5stars
awesomeeeee, beautiful art.
This game is a lot of fun! The art is amazing, the gameplay is fun, the music is enjoyable. Just all around a good time!
The jump is weird, but the idea and the gameplay is quite amazing.
Graphics are very good, cool music, and it is quite fun.
The thing I don't understand is why you stop half a second the clock at the begining of each area. It is not needed.
Thanks for the comment! About jumping, can you give more details? Is it a problem with acceleration, animation or some kind of bug?
The timer stops when no enemies are coming, but your suggestion makes sense, we can change that in a next version after game jam feedbacks, thank you for the suggestion!
Regarding the jump, bug. It is as it has a double jump, and I can jump on walls
Hi, Josep! The wall jump was intentional, we just forgot to add it into the Commands section. Thanks for the reminder!
There's something a bit janky about the jump, but other than that I enjoyed this game, wish there was more to it. Liked that there were multiple music tracks, but they lacked a central theme too tie them together. Intro was very good, just wish this was developed a little further! :)
Hi! Yes, there is one little bug in the jump animation, we will fix it soon. Thanks for the feedback! :)
I loved it! The gameplay feels really smooth, the music and the visuals make it even better. Awesome work!
Thanks, @Windblaze! :D
Wow!! Love the artstyle, the music compliments it nicely.. all in all quite a fun game.. And very well done with the Intro..
Thanks, @ANRQAngel! :D
