Really loved the boss fight with the arms moving to position themselfs to shoot I guess there is some IK going on? Why if we shoot with the left mouse click can we not aim with the mouse that felt a tad clunky.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I didn't have enough time to implement that. This game should ideally be played with a gamepad.

That is totally fair! Haha the only controller I have lying around is the steam controller maybe I will try it with that? I don't even know if that would work :D

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I have no idea either. But any type of XInput controller should be okay. I use a Logitech one, which my PC just treats like any ol' XBox controller. Anyway, thanks so much for checking out the game and for your feedback! It's much appreciated!

I enjoyed the mechanics very much. Also, I love the sound effects different based to what you hit. It's such a small detail but boy I loved every shoot!

This game right here has a potentiell to be a massive crazy good game :)

Well done on this project :)

Really cool game!

The art is really nice, I liked the boss fight and the mechanics, taking over enemies is pretty fun, although dying from one hit is a bit harsh.

The movement is a bit clunky, and the jump is floaty, doesn't affect the game that much, but the movement screwed me up a couple of times.

And the music and sounds are excellent!

Great job!

I enjoyed the mechanics very much, the idea of jacking into other enemies and then unjacking was sick! I beat the 1st boss but got stuck on the platforming during the tank level. The only critique I have is faster or and better jump and movement controls when you are just a head.  To make it easier to get to other robots. Overall, I enjoyed the gameplay and mechanics!

Cool game. Interesting idea. I didn't even think about the right mouse button for highjacking the suit. Way to go!

A very cool game, liked the way you can take control over those robotic bodies. If you could make a hard mode where there are more enemies or they are stronger, so it would be more hardcore, would love to try it!
Overall a fun and interesting game!

Very nice game and cool concept, I love the art style too!

Congrats on making it solo! It's a fun concept and you gave it a really cool aesthetic. Controls felt a bit strange: if I'm shooting with mouse clicks, I'd rather also aim with mouse, and not keyboard. But, yeah, great game!

Great game, well made :)

I loved it, fantastic idea, I believe this game has a lot of potential!

Incredibly, you managed to make this game in 10 days solo! The mechanic of stealing robots' bodies is really fun, especially if you get the drone. I see great effort put into the sprites and I must say they look very cool, especially the boss.

The controls on the keyboard and mouse feel a little weird, and the level design and gameplay are quite simplistic, but I'm sure if you have more time to expand, this game will be great!

The main menu UI Font was a bit hard to read. And I would prefer Jump-Space, Take Over Robot-Right Mouse Button. But other than these, nice mechanic :)

Developer

Yeah, I've gotten that comment about the controls from others. To be honest, I usually play games almost exclusively with a gamepad, so I didn't even realize that the Space bar was so ubiquitous with jumping. But I'll fix that. Thanks so much for playing and for your feedback!

Hello brother in genre! Nice mechanic of taking over a robot.  Maybe a little more thought going to the level design but otherwise good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for your feedback! Yeah, level design in general is a weakness of mine, and in jams, I tend to always leave it til the end. I guess it shows.

I loved your game! I really liked your idea for the game jam theme. The only two things I would say is to change the font of the text on the menu screen at the start of the game and to change the controls. It's hard to read, and the controls are a bit weird. For example, jumping is bound to right-click, when it should be bound to space.

OMG, I love it! i advanced quite a lot just being a head...wich is like.. the most awesome had, gave me some Alita vibes!

Controls were a bit weird, but had a lot of fun!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Alita was definitely a huge influence on the visuals!

Nice job! Good side-scrolling action, the controls were a little weird at first.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yeah, the controls were a tug of war for me between trying to make it feel like something classic like Contra, and having its own unique feel that might be a bit jarring to long time gamers, but hopefully it doesn't take too long to get used to.

Nice art style and controls.

A bit hard.

Would be nice if robot body could jump.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! The robot body could jump just fine, or should. It's not working for you?

Submitted

Tried it again guess i was just using spacebar to try to jump while in robot for some reason =D.

Improvements that robots don't instantly shoot you are nice.

Developer

No, that was a glitch. There was something completely irrelevant happening that, if it's wrong, will prevent you from doing certain things, like jumping, while at the same time, everything else SEEMS like it's running smoothly. Heh, that game developer life, eh?

Submitted

Indeed relatable.

Submitted(+1)

Good execution. The robots seem to have very good aim.

Developer

Yeah, I figured since they don't shoot continuously, it'd be fine if they were accurate, but I guess I still have some balancing to work on. Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I liked the art style, and it was pretty satisfying spamming the laser to probe for and kill off-screen enemies

Submitted(+1)

Interesting idea! But quite hard! I died a lot :D
