Really simple and yet quite fun. Nice work making so much use of so little. Really what game jams are all about.

Developer

Thank you! I really appreciate your comment. I'm glad you liked it.

Nice, simple game! I could see this getting really addicting after a while. One thing I'm confused on, is how this is related to the theme? Regardless, it's a great submission. A simple idea executed very well. Good job! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback! I wanted to make this game since a long time ago and I couldn't find any good theme implementations... So I just went to try and submit the best I could. I'm happy that you enjoyed it :)

Submitted(+1)

Not remotely related to the theme and very difficult to play on a laptop. It would be great if you included alternate controls for those of us whose glide pads have crappy mouse buttons!
I totally forgot about the left button to boost as I was trying to time my right click to get new balls. But I seemed to lose points when the ball hit the paddle. Not sure what's going on there.
I would have played it more if it weren't for my lack of a mouse. My top score was -114

Developer

Thanks for your feedback and taking the time to play!

This game isn't really aimed to be played with trackpad due to its nature, I tested the game with my own trackpad (as I work with a laptop) and it made the game unnecesarily so much harder that I decided against implementing anything. That's why there are no alternate controls (plus lack of time to think about any and implement it).

To encourage juggling with the mouse pointer, after a ball bounces 5 times on the platform it starts subtracting points instead of adding. This is explained on screen when you have just one ball on screen and falls down the lower limit. Did you have that screen show up? I think there could be a bug where it's not showing to some people.

Submitted(+1)

No, I don't recall getting that screen, when I had 1 ball that went down off the screen the game was over and I got my score.

Congrats on completing the jam!

Bouncy :).
Took me a couple of tries to get used to how the score worked :P.
Unique aproach and challenge, having the player click on the balls in the air.
Well done on creating this fun jam game :)

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Did you encounter the screen where the score system is explained? I was thinking on implementing it somehow different where I could explain it better.

Played the game several times and got pretty low scores just trying to keep the balls up.  After that I ended up just spamming the right mouse button and kept the paddle in the same place.  Never really used the left mouse button.  Nice idea, but needs more expanding to make ppl come back to it.

Just seen prims score and now feel bad.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. That strategy is penalized, as after 5 bounces balls start to subtract points instead of adding, although is actually a fun strategy too so in a variant I might explore it better. The game is about pure skill in the same vein of the physics-based flash games of the early 00s. If you persevere you will probably be able to juggle a few at the same time.

Thanks for taking the time to play it :)

This game proves that less is more!

It's quite entertaining!

Well done :)

It was fun after I found out how the score works. Originally I thought I was doing well with -4000 points lol.
I see no one else has shared their highscore so I will start:

Developer

Thanks for sharing your score! If I'm honest you have done much better than me during playtest lol.

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for trying it out!

The game was a struggle with laptop not having a mouse.

Feedback

could do with just a button press to separate the balls.

there seems to be some type of lag issue when a ball goes below the screen area, are you doing a find object at that point?

the first time i lost i couldn't figure out how to proceed until i stumbled on clicking the ball would start it again.

However, its nice and clean simple design and with a few fixes could be a nice little casual game, congrats on submitting it.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately I didn't have time to implement alternative controls, but you're right.

The lag you encountered is intentional. I pause the game for a brief moment and play a short sound effect as feedback for the player that they lost a life.

Thanks for trying out! I hope you can give it another try if you get your hands on a mouse.

Submitted(+1)

That might of been the aim but i think a slight screen shake would work better than making it feel like the game has lagged.

Wow.... Just wow that's it
