Nice mechanic of turning into a ghost instead of dying. Good game :)

Nice game. Liked the idea of turning into a ghost!

This was fun! I liked the ability to change forms, it gives you different strategy options to explore the map. Good job!

Things I liked:

-I love that coins were everywhere and there was a point system

-I love how becoming a ghost allowed me to progress in a unique way or explore if I wanted to avoid a big fight

-I liked the different places to explore in the map (dungeon, cave, inner castle, grassy area)

-I like that if you did not move right away after getting a revive potion, you had a moment to plan out your actions as the enemies would stop

Things to improve

-for precise dodging of the enemies, the slippery controls became frustrating, especially if we have to dodge and move around them and traps. On that note, I do not think the hit box should be around the entire character model as it did not feel natural. I would get hit by water because my head passed through it and I would instantly die which was something I had to rewire in my head.

-No ending? I got all 11 scrolls, but nothing happened? If something did happen, giving player feedback and helping them move towards whatever did happen if it was in the world

-Limited spawns with the potions so when I got instantly killed by traps or water, it was scary and this game would be frustrating playing and getting 10 scrolls but running out of potions, so making some way to buy back a potion with coins or they regenerate over time.

Overall:

Fun game and I would love to see and play more- nostalgic and fun!

This is some really wonderful feedback! This is only my 2nd game so this kind of feedback really helps newbies like me. I will definitely incorporate your suggestions in v2. Thanks for playing and offering suggestions to help me level up! :-)

I am just a beginner myself, so I am just trying to help anyway I can. I hope the feedback was useful!

Nicely done! I for one enjoy the slip n' slide movement (maybe I'm strange), but you can work it into a game mechanic or have a funny justification for it. You got some good basics down here.

Developer

That’s right - It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. LOL. Thanks so much for playing and the feedback! :-)

Great game, and I like that <space> is used for sword since movement is by arrow keys. Makes better sense than some games where parts are by mouse, and parts by keys.

Developer

Thank you! I tend to struggle with the wsad/mouse combo so I always use arrow keys for movement and the space just feels natural. :-)

I agree with another comment about movement feeling a bit 'slippery' but otherwise it's a good game, nice mechanics and pleasing visuals.

This is a very solid game using the theme in a smart way. I like how "death" isn't exactly a punishment, sometimes it can help pass by a lot of enemies. Really cool!

Thank you!
