The game looks great. The only down part I found was the fact that I had severe issues getting through open doors... :( If you adjust that, the thrill of making it through the areas will be increased.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying out the game!

Yeah, its a real problem. I tried updating it recently to decrease the chance of getting stuck on the doorways but due to how the movement and collision detection was made I can't fully remove the bug. Still, thanks for trying this out!

Awesome game! I love how the music transitions when you get hit!

Developer

Thank you! I'm really happy with that feature :D

Yay! Doors & Levers! Love those since i was a child and played might&magic III back in the 90’s. The music is charming, and doing this is only a view days is a great job! Well done!

Developer

Thanks for trying out the game! I'm really glad that you enjoyed this simple maze game and that it made you reminisce a little bit about your childhood :) That's such an honor for me.

Nice game you have here. I think the buttons need a bit more of a visual/sound cue for when they are activated. Great use of the theme with light and dark. Love the banana costume!

Developer

Thank you for playing the game! I really wanted to have more audio feedback when using the switches since even the slight visual feedback that I added whether an object is highlighted or not isn't as noticeable due to how I implemented it. I was able to add a simple audio feedback for it but it was too faint that sometimes it can be overlooked since I don't know how to properly modify an audio clip's default volume, and setting SFX volume to max volume still wasn't enough. There was supposed to be footsteps sound as well but it's also so faint.

Still, thanks for trying the game out and I'm glad that you also loved the banana costume!

Awesome concept really well done !

Developer

Thank you!

Very nice game.  The light and dark theme was good.  The only issue I had was that some of the door ways were difficult to fit through.  Probably need to widen them just a little.

Developer

Thanks for trying out the game! I do agree that sometimes it's hard to fit through the doors. I did try adjusting the path but the main cause of the issue is how my player detects corners so sometimes the player gets stuck in a corner. This is also why sometimes the switches doesn't get highlighted if you approach them diagonally. I still have to learn how to fix it but thank you again!

I see we had a similar Light vs Shadow interpretation for this theme :) Really fun game and I found myself planning out the best routes to get to where I needed to go. I think a simple click confirmation would be really helpful when activating a switch because sometimes it seemed to be a bit finnicky on whether or not I triggered it. Great game!

Developer

That's true! Your game was really awesome :D

I really wanted to have more audio feedback when using the switches since even the slight visual feedback that I added whether an object is highlighted or not isn't as noticeable due to how I implemented it .I was able to add a simple audio feedback for it but it was too faint that sometimes it can be overlooked since I don't know how to properly modify an audio clip's default volume, and setting SFX volume to max volume still wasn't enough.

I do agree that the switches were kinda finnicky to interact with mostly due to the method I used for collision detection. Corners are bad!

Still, thanks for trying the game out and I'm glad to hear you had fun!

Very cute game! It was a little difficult to tell what was considered light and dark at first. Once I understood though it was fun and I really enjoyed the game. The overall concept is great.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game! I had a really hard time thinking how to properly display the range of the light especially since I didn't have enough time to put more assets in the levels which would probably be the best indicators so I decided to just display a subtle circle around the light sources. I wanted to make them stand out more but with how I did it, it would just look weird and distracting if I made it more visible especially since I wasn't able to implement a way to hide them when they pass through walls. Still have a lot to learn but still thank you!

Nice game with a fitting music. I couldn't open the green door in the 2nd level, even though i was at the lever twice (day and night). Bug or am I dumb? :O

Either way it was fun and if you find the time to play and rate my game, I would be happy.

Developer(+1)

Oh, you may have missed the second green door switch. I tried really hard to hide at least one of them but still allow the player to see them on certain angles since I was only able to make 2 levels.

Still, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the game! Don't worry, I played your game and I still am sad about the poor slugs :(

Submitted(+1)

Bit hard to spot the light and get through, but still a fun game. I did clip through a wall on the 1lvl though and had to restart :D

Good work and I liked the be out of the light idea, just needed maybe a bit better/easier way to spot them, at least during the "day" cycle.

Developer(+1)

Wait you were able to clip through a wall? I guess I wasn't able to properly fix the positions of the walls!

About the easier way to spot them, I really wanted to implement a better way to do it but I wasn't able to think of a decent one so I went with just a round transparent image. Still, thanks for playing the game!

Very funny gameplay, nice

Great game.

Really fun game, the visual and music are done really well and  I love the intro.

The hidden green switch on the first level is a bit of a banana move XD

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

It really is! I just had to cuz I was only able to make 2 levels xD

I'm really glad you enjoyed the intro!

Submitted(+1)

Great game. I got stuck when you had to use the lights instead of the darkness. But the music and looks were great!

Submitted(+1)

This one is an innovative idea which is pretty tricky to implement. I was stuck on level one for the longest time so I jumped ahead to the second level. I finished that one and realized there can be more than one switch with the same color so I went back and was able to finish the first level armed with that knowledge. :D

I really like how the music gets more intense when you're low on life (at least I think that's what triggers it!)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm really happy with how this game turned out. I'm glad you were able to finish the first level. I really had to make it kinda tricky!

And yes, the music gets more intense when your health drops to a certain point and it was fun to learn how to do :D

Submitted(+1)

I enjoyed the strange lighthearted intro. It was fun trying to figure out the best way to cross the different types of zones. Sadly, I got stuck at one part because the green switch wasn't opening a door for me, but I still had a great time.

Developer

Thanks for trying out the game!

That's possibly the level where there's two green doors and another hidden green switch (I had to do it cuz I only have 2 levels) but I can understand. I'm glad you still had a great time despite it.
