Cool! Anxiety hits red! Never got to find all the crystals though. Do they change location with every restart? I would have liked the health slowly getting restored while on the "normal" dimension. Or at least find something in the crates that actually heals :-)

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing! Most of the stuff is randomly placed with some constraints. That goes for the crates as well, there are actually stuff that heals you in some of them. Time caught up with me so the balance needs to be adjusted.

Is this a horror game? I stopped playing after a while I am a big scaredy-cat!!!

Developer

No, it is not a horror game just a bit eerie. No jump scares or anything like that.

This guy should be out cold hearing how much he's hyperventilating xD Creepy atmosphere and the concept is good. The particles were a bit too much for the WebGL build I think, I lost a lot of frames when I switched dimensions. Well done for just one person!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and yes, it is unfortunately a bit tough on the WebGL (I think it is the post processing, though, not the particles);  it runs okay for me most of the times though, and the Windows build works much better ofc.

Atmospheric game for a poor seeker of crystals. I like it. :)

Loved your take on the theme.  Nice work with the particles in the rift dimension and the motion blur.   The breathing was stressing me out - dude was hyperventilating!  First time I played through I couldn't find any crystals and the second time found them no problem.  Maybe make the breathing more exaggerated in the rift dimension and less so in the normal dimension to accentuate the damage being done.

Thanks for the feedback and for playing. Most elements in the game are randomly placed so it may differ a lot from run to run. The only thing that is constant is how the four sections are located compared to each other. The writings on the walls in the other dimesnion contains hints of where things are located (portals, exits to other sections and the Portal opener that You need to find when You have collected the crystals). The idea of changing the sound was good, I'll take note of that. I had more things on my mind to differ the two dimensions but time ran out.

Good game, it has potential. The uncertainty that there might be some enemies together with the breathing sound stressed me out so much! I can see how adding enemies would make it even better, but i also understand that doing a first person game all by yourself in 10 days is very hard. Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks for the nice words and feedback. There is actually code for AI-driven enemies looking for You in there (as well as a Prefab), but I couldn't get it to work reliable so I scrapped them for the time being.

Ok, so i've been running about with all the crystals and key cards. is there an end state to this game?

Your game fits very well with the theme and the mechanics do what they're meant to do. Quite eeries atmosphere, and honestly i don't do well with horror games XD. Happy to find out there were no monsters.

The parallel world is a bit laggy on webGL, but that's nothing to do with your game in itself.

Thanks for the kind words, I was planning on having enemies walking around the complex but didnät have time. You can actually finish the game but I found a bug that sometimes the player colliding with the spinning orb won't work so I have added a fix for that and another bug (portals spawning at the same place making the player bounce between the dimensions endlessly).

Please have another go if You feel like it!

Developer

I have fixed the problem with mouse pointer moving out of viewport which makes it much easier to control at least.

Spooky atmosphere, a little difficult to control

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for the feedback - Unfortunately the Web-GL build makes the controls a bit clunky at time and I didn't have the time to look into that before submission :(

Submitted(+1)

Agree with another commenter. The controls are a bit wobbly. Maybe this is because of WebGL build. This looks great, and I could see this being really cool with more development. Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks for the comment, I'll add a windows build eventually which hopefully is less clunky with the controls!

Developer

Thanks for playing - Yes, the controls are a bit wobbly in WebGL (especially in the other dimension). I have uploaded a Windows version which of course plays better :)

I started playing and soon I find myself not being able to turn. When the cursor of the mouse reach the edge of the screen it stops. I can't turn around, can't look down, it's a bit frustrating because everything else seems nice.

Developer

Thanks for the comment - I will post a bugfix if possible, the Web GL build is a bit tricky in that aspect...

Developer

I have uploaded a new version where the mouse pointer issue should be solved! :)

Yes, it's much better. It is a nice game :D. The breath sound gives a feeling of urgency, the atmosphere is great.
