I'm in love with the particle effects in this ๐Ÿคฉ! In combination with the sound effects, it makes the gameplay quite relaxing. The evolution to different shapes over time works well, with enough time in the beginning to get to grips with the general mechanics before the more hostile ones start appearing, and it's quite addictive to try to get to the next set of shapes :D

It was my first experience with Godot and particle effects.  They are also the cause of lags as I spawn too many of them xD

I am glad that you liked the game :)

Nice relaxing game for the start, then sheer panic as the giant red orbs try to kill you nice work.

Wait till you reach the Squares... that is where THE Horror starts :D.  Thank you for the review.

Really fun game, made me think of Agar.io for the first time in years. I liked the echoing water drop noise when I ate the other circles. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Agar.io was one of the inspirations.  If you like these types of games, look into Tasty Planet games as well.  Also happy to hear that sounds were pleasant to listen to - my main concern was that repetitive sounds would start to grind on brain, hence why I picked something what could be easily modulated and soft on the ear :)

This is a fun game and its a shame it doesnt have more ratings really. I thought the mechanics were awesome - loved that you grow bigger as you 'eat' other blobs and shrink if you dont keep doing that. I got to stage 8 and eventually I ran out of food and died. Its a really good game. Well done.

This game is a blast and really stands out! The visuals are top-notch and the gameplay is excellent. It was both fun and challenging. Loved every moment of it! Great job!

Hello! ๐Ÿ‘‹

๐ŸŽฎ Overall: This was a fun and simple game, reminiscent of snake.io, with enjoyable gameplay.

๐Ÿ˜„ Fun: The concept was small, simple, and fun, providing an engaging experience.

๐Ÿ›ด Theme: The theme wasn't clear, but it seemed like a "last life" or "last one" type of interpretation.

๐ŸŽจ Aesthetics: The art was very basic; adding some sprites, even free ones, would improve the visual appeal.

๐ŸŽถ Music: I did not hear any music; adding some casual background music would set the scene nicely.

๐Ÿ”Š Sound: The sounds were good overall and added to the experience.

โš™๏ธ Mechanics: The mechanics were solid, and the game was balanced. Implementing an Object Pooling system could optimize spawning and avoid stutters.

๐Ÿ“– Story: I did not see a story element implemented.

Great job on the submission! ๐Ÿ‘

Thank you for such a detailed review deadshotninja.

I was considering going with sprites, but scaling them would make game look a bit choppy (maybe there is nice scaling and interpolation - still learning about it) + I wanted to go with agar.io style (and wanted to see how primitive drawing works).
With music I did not what music to put there (more of a me issue here).

Optimization was bad cos I over-did particles and did not test the game on machines with different configurations (something I will pay more attention too).

I am glad you liked the game and left a detailed review for it.  Have a nice weekend :D

nice, but: music missing sometimes are enemies crazy(speed 1000000) and the main thing... look like you never destroy them, game is laggy after few minutes. but like it, and its interesting more than 4/5 other games

Developer (1 edit)

The music is missing because I did not  find anything I liked.  Lag is most likely caused by all of the  particles  and entities are getting destroyed after 1 to 4 seconds of being outside of the viewport.  It is strange that you are having crazily quick enemies though...  can you say which enemies they are?  Are they the spinning squares or red  circles?

Thank you for commenting and leaving good criticism which I will employ to improve my game design :)

im not sure, what it was, can be just a lag... i cant see it clearly :) can be just an illusion when all particles is moving :D

I liked it!

Thank you :)

Nice little game. I like the sounds and particles for bursting the blobs. The art is simple, but I like it. Reminds me of some of the flash games I used to play on AddictingGames.

A few levels in, the game did seem to stutter a bit from too many blobs and enemies appearing all at once. Other than that, nice job!

My final score was 4,516

Thank you for a detailed comment :) .  One thing I realized now is that I did not consider optimization whatsoever (hence why it stutters).  Next time will do it better.  Have a nice day!
