Very fun! This made my list of favorite games from the jam
That's great! Thanks for enjoying this game π
Well I lost one Dodo brother, but we survived in the end! That was a lot of fun, great job! Really impressed with the turn-based strategy game mechanics!
Thanks for playing! It's great that you made it out alive with most of the Dodo alive π
Very fun! And I love the concept of protecting the Dodo, I think that's a great idea for the theme! The turned based combat is really well done too! Using the sword is the strat.
Awesome that you had fun and liked the concept! I made the sword against the rats a bit more overpowered so players have a good chance to defeat those evil rats π
That was really fun! The sword's the way to go
On my first playthrough it took me a while to realise I had 5 dodos so it might be better to centre the camera by default. Nice submission
Thanks for playing and enjoying it. Yeah, I agree with moving the initial camera a bit to the center. I didn't notice it until after I uploaded it the first time, but Iβve addressed it in a quick hotfix that I just uploaded π
Fun game overall, but you should move the camera to the center of the battle field or make the camera follow the mouse. I hate to admit it, but it took me some time to understand how to move it π
Hey, I get where youβre coming from. I realized after uploading the game that the control scheme might not be intuitive for players unfamiliar with similar turn-based tactics games. Iβve then added the control instructions to the description on the game's page, but yeah, many players, myself included, just press that Play Game button right away π
Iβm considering a few improvements based on your feedback. I'm thinking to auto-center the camera on the active unit and adding some unit selection buttons on the sides of the screen or implementing an auto-swap to the next unit once all action points are used. Anyway, I appreciate your patience in figuring out the controls and Iβm glad to hear you enjoyed the game. Thanks again for your valuable feedback!
I actually am familiar with turn-based tactics games. I think I played so many 2D games that day that I didn't even think to use the WASD keys. My thought at that moment was that what I saw was what I had. I didn't realize there was camera control π. Don't worry though, I really enjoyed the game itself and realized it was probably my mistake for not reading the game page first. So, I didn't take that into account while rating your game. Auto-center would be great!
Yeah, I get it, it happens to me too. I've just uploaded a quick hotfix that adds a button to display the user controls, much more user-friendly that way. Anyway, thanks again for the feedback, I will keep things like that in mind for my next games π
the game is very good
Thanks for playing my game and liking it π
Feels great - nice camera control. A turn based game is rare in a jam β you did well! Ohβ¦ and Dodos! YES! Love them :-)
Awesome you liked my game and the Dodos. Who doesn't love those funny birds? π
This is a a fun concept! It already feel pretty good to play too.
Appreciate your comment! Iβm happy to hear that you found the concept enjoyable to play. π
This is a cool little demo with a really fun theme. It feels good to win because you're outnumbered. Those pirate rats will pay for what they have done to my dodo family.
Iβm glad you enjoyed the theme and felt good winning the game. Those pirate rats sure had it coming, didnβt they? π
It's impressive you got a tactics game working with a one person team in the jam time, good job! The map looks nice and controlling an army of dodos is really funny.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you had fun with this game. It still has a lot of glitches since I had to prioritize some things to ensure I had something playable by the end of the game jam. There's some dirty code in there to make sure it got finished in time π
