Cool game! I really enjoyed playing, didn't expect at first that it would become so difficult but I appreciated it! I really liked the music and the sfx also.

One bug I noticed is that when the spaceship is hit, during the animation you can move beyond the edge of the screen to the left. and if at the end of the damage animation you are still off the screen, you remain stuck there with no possibility of moving anymore.

Developer

Thanks a lot for your feedback, it makes me so happy to hear you enjoyed it!

Ah shit that's quite an annoying bug. It's because when the player gets hit I just disable the collision box to give invincibility frames. I think I can implement this better, thanks for pointing it out!

Awesome game! This is the most fun one I've played through in this game jam. It could definitely be faster paced though.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm happy you had fun playing! I had plans to add more content and polish but had to cut a lot due to the deadline. I think in level1 the obstacles take too long to leave the screen for eg, and the jump in difficulty between level 1 and 2 is quite high. I will look into polishing this outside the jam. If you have any more feedback, please let me know :D

Thank you!

I really enjoyed the game :) I loved the attention to details, like the sounds and the music. I love that shield sound effect so much hahahha. Strategy wise it always kept me on my toes, and sometimes was on the challenging side which was cool too. And the skill tree was a nice touch!

When I was playing, some power-ups from the first level wouldn't transfer to the second level. Would be cool if you could patch that up! But otherwise super impressive for a 10 day project! all the best~

Developer

Thanks for your nice feedback! I'm not sure why that bug is happening, thanks for bringing it up

This game was really fun, balancing is a bit off, but other than that I really enjoyed the time I got out of it.

1 annoying bug is that sometimes my hits arent registered, so it would be cool if you fixed that.

Cool game though!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I'm quite happy you enjoyed it :D

I do agree the balancing is off. I had a larger scope in mind when I started but had to limit it to 2 levels due to time, so I bumped up XP gained from enemies so players can try out everything on the skill tree. Though with only 2 levels, the player would be way too overpowered with all the skills haha. I will test the game more to see if I can reproduce the hits not registering.

That was a neat game!

I liked that you combined level obstacles with the enemy shooting at you at the same time. It adds a bit more difficulty. Also, you get to add multiple enemy types, which surprised me multiple times.

The background art is cool. The music was also catchy and fitting.

I feel the player's ship collider should be a bit smaller, cause sometimes I felt I was hit when I shouldn't.

Overall an amazing cool game!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I'm happy you enjoyed it :D

I made the ship's collider quickly in the beginning to just match the ship's shape. I definitely should revisit it and adjust the shape on the perimeter. I will do that soon along with some other bug fixes.

Glad to hear you will keep working on the game

Probably you know this, but generally the collider of the player should be smaller than its actual shape. It serves the same purpose as when developers add a jumping tolerance near the edge in platformers. You want to allow the player to make slight mistakes without punishing them.

But hey, we are all here to learn!

Developer(+1)

yes you are right. I already saw some instances where I got hit by obstacles even though I was barely touching them, so I agree with you. Thanks for the tip!

Really fun!  I played for a while until I got a crash, definitely enjoyed it up to that point :)

Developer

Thanks for playing my game! I'm really happy you had fun. That's the best compliment I could receive :D.

Could you share more information about when the crash happened (what was on the screen, what enemies/projectiles, etc) if you remember? I think I can fix it still

Submitted

I can't remember all the details, but it was on the second stage.  I had a power up guy with me, and maybe I had just cleared a wave?  The interesting thing was, all the sprites disappeared on the screen, but the audio cue for the laser firing was still completely responsive.  I tried hitting a few buttons and waiting it out a bit, but nothing changed.

Developer

huh that's really weird. I'll do some more testing to see if I can reproduce it. Thanks for sharing!
