Cool game. Had fun slashing cringe ghosts and zombies!
Thanks!
very fun and unique idea on this game! awesome work. This was a fun challenging game. Loved it.
would love to see more too after the jam.
If anyone wants to see a completed version of the game, follow my account. I plan on expanding on this game a lot.
Neat game, a short game but combat was really nice! Slapping down swords and the undead walking into them while taking damage was good.
I'm not quite sure if the text here is a bug or on purpose, but here's a pic
Nice job :D
No that's a bug. IDK why that happens, but it only happened to me there. I think it's a problem with Unity's Text Mesh Pro system, not something I did.
Quite mysterious that it works for the intro but not there, gotta say it looks cool as a cryptic unreadable text though.
I did a bit of testing, and it only happens with the build not the unity project. It only happens on another playthrough when you already have triggered the text in your last playthrough (except the intro). Either my messy code interfaced with some part of Unity's Text Mesh Pro system I didn't even know existed and accessed something outside my project, or Unity's text mesh pro system has a bug, likely due to the too large font I already sized down for the larger final version I'm making. PS if you want to see that final version, follow me.
And I will try to see if I can replicate that to create a cryptic unreadable text lol!
Doubt it though. I don't even know how I did it!
Great job!, what a shame it's so short, fantastic story!
I'm really sad I couldn't expand on it more. I had to figure out Unity's Timeline feature with no previous knowledge. I didn't even know it existed until this jam. I hope to expand on the game later.
Also, I'm going to make a larger version of this game. Follow me if you haven't already if you want to see it when it comes out.
Finished the game! I loved the sword attacks. It is a very fine game to expand. The idea is good, the mechanics are good... Please, expand it!
Oh, I will expand it a lot! Follow me if you haven't if you want to see the full version. Thank you!
Nice job, I liked the feel of the game!
Thanks!
I'm not sure if i did something wrong, but I got stuck after being made to talk to a pulsating orb.
But before that, i had fun stabbibng zombies. Not sure if its intended, but I realised there may not have been a cooldown timer for attacks, and so the faster i clicked, the more stabs i could get in. Building in an attack cooldown might increase the difficulty of the game.
Feels like a good base to build on!
A bug fix I added in created another bug. When a cutscene ended, you used to just walk the direction you did when it started even if you're not still pressing the button. So, if you're stuck when the cutscene ends, try moving in a different direction or stop moving then start again. If that doesn't fix it, you found a bug. I would recommend reloading the page.
I actually liked the sword mechanic, interesting for it to just appear there, I think it works for this game. Overall, nice job on that, the story, visuals and the rest of the game.
Thank you!
I like where you were going with the story - I could definitely see this expanding out more - I love story driven games so always nice to see! Good job :)
Thank you! It took me SO LONG to figure out how to make a story game.
Also, it will expand more. I'm making this into a full game. Follow me if you want to see it when it comes out.
The game feels a bit rough, but I think it has a solid base. The combat (animation) was interesting and I liked the sprites
Thanks! I did all the sprites myself. I went a bit too large with the game from the beginning, so I didn't have time to add on extra polish or really do much at all.
Cool one! I managed to kill everything in there and stand up for the living. I liked the way it attacks.
I found the font a little hard to read though, and the music covered all the sounds, if any.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately, figuring out unity timeline took to long for me to get sound effects added in. There was static around the radio, and that's it.
And when I expand on the game later, I will make the font samller.
Nice game buddy, I loved the idea and the game mood. There are just some bugs that need to be fixed, like when I arrive to the portal the game just freezes and I can't move anymore.
Good job overall!
When a cutscene ends, it freezes the player, so you don't keep walking even if you're not pressing on the controls. If you get frozen after a cutscene, move in a different direction. If that doesn't fix it, restart the game. I'll look into that.
I thought the game was a fun little game. I read your description saying this was your first story game and I noticed that there was hitching at some parts. I am guessing that there was supposed to be dialogue but I didn't get anything. I just got stuck for a little bit before I could move. So I think I didn't get the full story I just got the beginning where the guy didn't get anything from the radio and that's the only thing I got.
Thanks for the feedback. There are definitely some bugs. It was 10 pm the day before submissions are due and I still needed to finish coding the final boss. when I noticed them, so I didn't have time to fix them.
