What was the most challenging part of making your entry?
The time constraints. We had to work in it after 9pm, and wake up too early (5am) to start working before our jobs!

What was the most fun part?
Working along with a close friend.

Anything else to add? (important controls, assets used, special mentions, etc)
All the assets used were done in the jam timebox by Jorge and me, except the music (used openGameArt.org).

Incredible experience. Having one of the game devs we admire to play our game will be a dream come true.

I watched James play your game on the stream, and he mentioned your good level design and art already, but the thing that stood out for me the most while playing myself is the tight controls.  Minivac feels weighty (that's a word right?).  I'm a fan of endless runners and this one is great!!! Well done.  Story is great too

really enjoyable game the end boss was pretty intense  but I beat him mauhuaha.

Wonder if you let the player take more then one hit would make that a bit easier for others to beat It felt like the yellow devil battle in the old mega man games to me for some reason and had to beat it.

I really like the story part between levels and your level transition screens good job

And can't go wrong with pixel art which looks great on this game as well.

I enjoyed the game until up to the final boss. The boss is way too unpredictable and punishing that I just wasn't able to finish it. Some advice is that you can have indication frames of where the attacks will come beforehand so players can have more reaction time, I've died a lot of times just because the block dropped right above my head and there was no way of telling that it was coming. Another suggestion is you can have the boss fight be scripted instead so that the attacks patterns are the same every time you play through it, that way even if the boss is hard players can learn from past experience and get better and better, which can actually be pretty rewarding!

I also agree with OKda about being lost during the race on tracking who I was playing, but otherwise I loved the races and little story breaks in the middle. The controls feel good and responsive and the race levels are designed well. The art and music is also great. I wished I was able to see the final ending but I still had fun! Great job :)

There is a lot of really cool and polished stuff in this game. The only major gripe that I have is the boss and unfortunately I found it to be very tedious and frustrating.

If the boss was more scripted and less random I think that I actually would have really enjoyed it. Look at Super Meat Boy's "Little Horn" boss for example. That is a hard core game in which you die in one hit, but because "Little Horn" is scripted it feels more fun and engaging as players learn the patterns and gradually improve over time. Here I felt like 90% of my deaths were due to bad luck rather than bad play because of the randomness.

Other than the final boss I really enjoyed this experience a hell of a lot. Great job!

This game is sick.  The presentation is top notch.  The gameplay is just difficult enough to make you want to play more but not too difficult to make you stop playing.   The art design is great.  The whole package is amazing.  Great work!

Holy hell that boss battle was too hard for me to beat. Amazing work. The controls are excellent and very responsive. And the artwork, sound, story & overall aesthetic...very good stuff!!!!

Really nice job on the art! I love the static-y overlay. Didn't make it to the end - but what I played was really solid!

You should give it one more try, the whole story is really nice

I think the story was amazing, however, the difficulty curve was that all the game was pretty easy, the last level was a little more challenging, and all of that was fine, it was not a game that needed to be extended. My problem is with the final boss. It is, unlike the rest of the game, completely unpredictable. It is too hard when the rest of the game was doing fine in difficulty.

It killed my experience, since i didnt watched the ending but probably will do it another day.

I would recomend to put a difficulty option. Not too easier, but that it would put more space between attack and attack waves

Hello Hartyl,

Yeah... I have to agree totally on this one. Funny thing is, before I uploaded the game, it had a much harder version of the boss. I made it a little bit easier, but I didn't balance the difficulty curve.

Hopefully, I can upload an upgrade after the jam. Sorry for killing the experience :( I hope you give it another oportunity.

Thanks and I will review your game. :)
