  • Solid snake port! I had a good time playing it, addictive as the original!
  • The first steps in learning something new are often the hardest and I applaud your efforts. Whilst the nature of your entry prevents it from scoring highly I would still encourage you to keep going and improve. You could try adding some simple sounds on changing directions and collecting food. Then you could give text rendering a try to add a score counter. I did notice a crash when the snake collides with the top wall too. I hope you enjoyed learning to program for the GBA and I also hope you enjoy learning more in the future.
  • Well, it's snake! The game controls well, though it's not free of bugs. Some kind of high score saving would've been nice. Great effort though and hopefully this was a good learning experience!
  • Decent snake :) Better graphics, some music and a title scene would make it better.

Jam ROM submission

Ok - understood! I attached the GBA ROM file as "MYGAMENAME_jam.gba".

The quintessential snake, and very responsive for making half-turns in an instant! It's a shame there's no size indicator to find out my record :')

It would be nicer to the player to not start the game as soon as it loads. Also typically eggs are not allowed to spawn in a space already occupied by the snake.
