That was interesting. The art is cool! There's a significant amount of problems, especially with the programming and graphics, but the concept has legs.

Congratulations on the submission!

I also had a run where I bugged into a box. I think this setup would be great if you fight back against the things chasing you. it felt like i didn't really have any options to skillfully evade the ghosts or bats. I tried shutting off the light but I wasn't convinced it was working. I was able to make it to the second basement (sewer looking one) but gave up around there. still, thank you for building and submitting!

Gameplay is very buggy. Collision boxes kept misaligning to the point I'd clip into walls and through doors, the game would occasionally fail to process a full fear meter, letting me wander with impunity, Fullscreening the app.makes the key indicator draw outside the intended game window, all the way in the bottom right.

Without the bugs this game seems like it would be genuinely difficult. Instead you just wait for it to glitch out and go solve the level.

The art is great, the music is great, the use of a fear meter instead of a health bar is clever. The bugs make it hard to play as intended, though.

The soundtrack and pixel art are wonderful!

I’m sure all of the issues are things that you’re aware of. Some of the items and text break the art rules, adding more colours and high resolution. It really makes it feel more like a unity game than a Gameboy game. I found that the ghosts really love coming in from an angle that makes them impossible to hit with your light, so the most progress I was able to make was when the game got confused if I lost or not.

I despite all of that, I love the ambition behind it. I think continuing to work on this would be well worth the effort!

Thank you very much for your opinion, we did indeed have some time issues but that's part of the game.
