Nice job! I would have loved to see where this goes next, but attempting a VN for a jam and getting as far as you did is certainly admirable. Props for also diving in and learning a new tool during the jam in the process!

Nice work on this visual novel concept! some of the things I would consider maybe would be how busy your floor tiles seem to get within the classroom. Its not to distracting and I see your trying to go with that wood texture, it just feels extremely busy. this makes the rest of the characters look a bit odd with the way they blend in.
Also for long visual novel games consider adding a mute button for the music but adding some sound effects for the text continuation. some little soft jingle or whatever to give that feedback of the player doing something.
An endearing and chill game. Definitely felt a lot like a JP visual novel, if that's what you were going for you nailed it. I can tell you put a lot of work into this, and I remember seeing your progress shots on Discord. Overall a really nice change of pace from some of the other more frantic entries. Well done!
Personally, this is not my type of game, but I can see the amount of work you put into it. I can't imagine doing all the conversation logic, ontop of everything else you did in GBStudio. Hats of to you for it, that's pretty impressive. Otherwise, there were just some grammar issues I noticed throughout various bits of dialogue (mainly using 'your' in places where it should be you're and etc). There was also a line that said "grapeful" instead of grateful which made me giggle.
Some of the dialogue was really funny too, and some really made me reminiscent of being a new kid at a new school / city. I feel like you nailed the overall feeling you were going for.
Well done!
I can understand, this isn't my favorite type of game either, just the one I felt was right to make at the time. Among the grammar mistakes I'm sorry for not catching them I was rushing a lot in the dialogue department focusing a lot more time on the visuals of the project. Also "grapeful" was on purpose, just couldn't fit in more food puns for that particular character. Thank you for the feed back!
I dig this a lot! The story was great and it felt really similar to a classic Gameboy game. I liked the cheeky dialogue options you could pick. Great work!!
This game really resonated with me from the beginning as I moved around a lot and got to deal with being the 'new kid' a lot. I'm really liking this so far and can't wait to finish it! Also the dialogue seems great! Not clunky! Sure a little cheesy and on the nose at times but I think overall its wonderful and you did a fantastic job!
This is epic for this jam! Amazing work. I will have to finish it at some point :)
I did not expect such a long game, I have finally finished it, I think the narrative is great for you, each character is different and has their own personality. I like the detail that it is your first time using gbstudio and you have achieved something like this, and that you have made the sprites and music from 0, great job, very polished and it would be nice to have more chapters in the future ^^
We all make that mistake, especially when we are motivated with our ideas ^^ if you have thought about all that content, it is that you have not been very concerned about the amount of work behind it until you realized XD. That is passion for making games, I will follow you to see your future progress ^^ good luck
Was not expecting a game so long in just 8 days, well done. Enjoyed the story.
Impressive narrative game to be made in such a short time. I really like the high-school setting and all the characters. My favorite was your friend who shares Bento Boxes. I really like all the dialogue choices and the environments. There's a lot to explore and I think this could be expanded further.
