Saving Cats and Dogs. That is surely a plus. I liked the idea of being a firefighter alot, but its way to easy. Nice and cute game nonetheless.
thanks for playing!
Cute game! I think maybe if your water supply was somehow limited, it would make for interesting choices over which fires you choose to extinguish. Nice!
thanks for playing
I wanted to make a game that was not too stressful, but well... fire is stressful! So having a lot of water resources sort of made sense.
I had to cut the difficulty settings, which included those limits. Maybe for the next jam.
The music is nice but what I think this game does best is the use of the color palette. First of all, it doesn't feel like it's just 4 colors, the contrasts are great and each color works perfectly.
I wish there was a little bit more variety, and I think overall the health bar is too large (in my second run I basically past run every fire and didn't die) but I like this game! I hope you develop the idea further
thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to play
In the last day made the decision to give the player a lot of HP because I wanted everyone to complete the game, even if they didn't save all the pets.
I also did some speed runs without extinguishing or saving anything, and thought it was kind of fun for a second/third run.
The varying contrast levels really do help to give the illusion of more colors. The red in the fire feels lighter, both from being next to the yellow and contextually being perceived as fire, than the red on your uniform
I like the idea and the palette and your use of it is great (using the brighter colors for important objects such as the fires or dogs)!
thanks!
Cute premise, and well executed. I found the big map a bit overwhelming. Maybe dividing it into smaller floors would help players get used to the gameplay more easily. Good work
thanks for playing!
An intense firefighting game, very fun! I liked the map design, I flowed nicely through the game and enjoyed the fireballs being hurled at me. A lot of cats didn't make it on my watch, most of the dogs did. I'm pretty sure a real firefighter might not be able to carry 40+ animals at once. I'm also curious about what jerk lit this animal hoarders house on fire... Perhaps thats another game.
Thanks for playing.
In my head saving the pets would make them travel the map on their own via some sort of navigation, but way too complex. Teleportation was the best choice.
If you save all the animals there is a different ending :)
Very cute concept! Like others, I'd say some variety to spice things up will help a lot...
thanks for playing
Very interesting concept and good palette choice. It becomes a bit repetitive though, it would be cool to have some other mechanics/enemies so the gameplay would be more varied.
thanks for your feedback and thanks for playing
have a bunch of ideas, but saving them for the next jam!
Really fun game, One thing though are those animals at the end stupid, they are all stood right next to the door lol
Well, the door is closed lol
Wanted to make it as a reward of completing the level. No more fire, only pets
Nice characters! Congrets!
thanks!
Really fun and easy to play! one of my biggest complaints would be the audio but i know not everyone is able to re-create 8bit tunes.
Thanks!
For sure, audio creation is my weakest link. I was learning sunvox for this...
Should have teamed with a composer. Maybe next jam!
really cool concept !! the colours are so pleasing, and it definitely feels like it has room to grow + expand, would be interested to play a post jam version
thanks, glad you enjoyed the game
Really fun and cute premise. I just a little overwhelmed towards the end.
Thank you. I appreciate your feedback. Ran out of time and this was one way of having a "boss"
definitely one of the most playable games in the jam. when i started playing, i didn’t think that i would like it, then after a long time playing, i realised i was enjoying myself a LOT!!
what is there not to like about rescuing cats and dogs!
thanks, glad you liked it :)
Good choice of colors and interesting concept :).
thanks!
Fun and interesting game! Very good stuff
thanks!
Very gameboy-y! It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed rescuing animals. Maybe you could expand further by including some more feedback about how much water you have left. I liked the non-violent theme! Also the animals were too cute!
thank you for your feedback, glad you liked it.
The water level for sure was one of the ideas, but ran out of time. Maybe for the next jam!
