this is really fun! great graphics and music. definitely got that game boy vibe to it. i liked the addition of switching the palette. i meant to do that with my game and forgot about it. the gameplay is also really nice, but i had a few small complaints:
1. the controls were really uncomfortable for me. the CTRL key on my keyboard is very small and at the bottom of the keyboard next to the arrow keys, so hitting that was tough.
2. it took me a minute to figure out the bombs were bombs. i guess there's not much you could have done to make them stand out more.
3. i also wished the jump would go just one tile higher so i could climb back up a few times after accidentally falling off a platform.
these are small criticisms though. well done overall!
The character controls very nicely, excellent animations overall. Awesome game.
Challenging and addictive game! Excellent graphics and music i could only reach level 3 after a huge effort lol, amazing job.
Interesante mecánica. Sprites con buen diseño pero algo grandes para mi gusto. Me gusta el detalle de poder cambiar la paleta de colores. Felicidades
After several attempts, I made it all the way to level 6! This game is pretty challenging. I like that you can jump on enemies as well as hitting them. I was surprised to see my life refilled after each level (otherwise there's no way I would have made it past stage 2). I really like the art as a whole, and gameplay is pretty clean and crisp feeling. I wish the hitbox for the pickaxe was a little bigger, though.
Top notch submission! Like a "toned down" Downwell but also a bit like Shovel Knight. Sprite work is super nice!
Awesome little mining game! Pretty fun and I love the designs of the little gremlin things! Good little distraction from work :D
Pretty fun little game. Though I was expecting there to be some sort of timelimit to encourage me to go fast, since the gameplay was pretty quick!
What a cute mining adventure! The Downwell influence is unmistakable, and the rush of zipping past enemies and jumping on heads from that game is definitely here. With a dual purpose attack and digging mechanic the level design is much more dense, and you'll be tiptoeing around bombs and taking your time moreso than falling like a rock. The pickaxe is short range but you can mash pretty wildly to tear it up. The controls are tight and responsive, I always felt that the pickaxe swung where I wanted it to go.
The aesthetics are excellent. I love the cute design of the player and enemies, and the music is fun. I felt around stage 10-15 as if the levels weren't getting any more challenging, I'm not sure if some stage layout elements or probabilites changed level to level. The caves are packed fairly tight with all the rocks, bombs, and enemies, so maybe something sweeping down from the top of the stage to force you to speed up would have helped add to the challenge.
An interesting idea with really nice graphics, but it doesn't have much in the way of longevity. I feel like there could've been more of a sense of increasing difficulty or something, but it starts to feel samey past the first few levels. The digging up and down mechanic is also kind of weirdly implemented. There could've been a spawning particle or something to indicate which way you were digging, so there didn't even need to be new animations.
This was rather cool. Loved the art and variety in enemies. The SFX and music were really cool. That main menu theme is badass as well lol. I felt that the actual act of digging was a little clunky though. It was hard to tell which ground piece or wall I'd break. I also feel that the player's collision box could be a little more smaller to make things a little better. None the less, it was a cool game
