Yo this is a really great concept! And I love the artwork you made too, it all looks really nice and fits together!
Based on your page it looks like you're still new to development and using unity, and keeping it simple like this was a great idea that I think paid off pretty well! The mechanics work well, and obviously sound still needs to be added, but that's something you can implement in your next project now that you've learned how to do all this =)

I feel this is exactly the kind of project for a jam that you can take as a starting point and keep building and improving over time, learning new tricks and things in your engine (Unity in this case) and get better. Good effort, I actually had more fun with this game than with others that look and feel much better.

This is quite a simple game, but I like the efforts to add juice to the game ! The idea of having different shield for left and right is really interesting, it allows the player to prioritise one side over the other if the shield is lower. Maybe adding some shield regeneration if it is not hit for a while could make it even more strategic ?
You could add even more juice by changing the color of the enemy hit for some time, maybe slowing it down for a bit ? The screenshake is cool, but you're doing it in a way that doesn't feel natural. It took me some time to figure out how to do it properly, so here is the trick : don't move the camera left and right, put it on a random place every frame, with a max range that you can vary over time to change the strength of the effect. You will see, it gives great result right off the bat !

Concept is cool but the game definitely needs sounds and I think that some kind of progression would be nice, because after some time you basically have no chance of winning

The art looks adorable and there's definitely a lot of room for improvement. Adding sounds can make such a huge difference. Also, I suggest not using the default graphics that Unity sets for the particles cuz that thing does not look good (for me personally). But you made a very cute game and I enjoyed my time so keep it up and I hope to see more!

Really good concept! I feel like a bit more variation throughout the game would help, like adding more places where enemies could come from, more enemies and just more possibilities in general.

Cute game, but really lacking in the juice department. I agree with what Robin said and I think also adding in some music as well as faster shooting would be great. The game is really promising though, and congrats on finishing for the jam!

Hi !
So I think the main issue with the game is the lack of feedback to help the player what's going on. There are screen shake and particles, which is nice, but it would have been more important adding feedback when of the shield breaks, to really understand something wrong just happened. I had to lose once to fully understand what was going on.
Other than that, I think ghosts should spawn with a random y position, otherwise you can just spam and kill them (maybe they do, but wayyyy too late and I died before). It takes too much time in my humble opinion for ghosts to come from the other side of the screen, and it makes it more interesting so you could make it happen a bit faster !
Congrats on making the game ! It doesn't miss much to be great so you should work on it a little bit more :D
