Audio works really well with the whole game. Great job!

A really well developed VX system, and nice visuals 👍

the game was interesting! i like how the levels are all interconnected via rooms, it adds for more immersion. the variety in enemies is great, but some enemies felt a bit buggy or painful to work with where it was unclear how they actually function and thusly making it a bit of a challenge to get deal with them. the music was nice, but i think adding some sound effects would be great to making the experience better, especially with how it can add a greater layer of responsiveness to the player. there were also parts that seemed too difficult with too many enemies crowding an area, or enemies being too close in areas that need to be accessed and also parts that seemed nearly impossible to do due to jump height. with some more time and work, this has a lot of potential because a some systems are done very well with it, and since this is chapter 0, i'm looking forwards to when new content is added and more updates patch things. cheers!

Developer

Thanks. I'll try to fix all the issues and make it feel more immersive after the jam.

And as for chapter 1, well..... I'll think about it. :)

Anyways, thanks for playing my game and for the detailed review.

This is a great game I really liked it so much. The main menu really has a issue at first but the game overall is fun and challenging.

I really liked what you did with the enemy specially bomb dude I thought it was friendly at first but it scared the **** out of me XD.

Developer

The bomber scared you too, right? They're actually the second most terrifying creatures in the area. There's still the ones you encounter underwater, those ones really gave me a tough time. XD.

Anyways, glad you liked it. :)

I really like the art as well as the mechanics. My only problem is that I couldn't find the exact controls at first to use the skills. While some of them are passive, some of them also have to be triggered by a key and I had to spend a little while figuring out how to use it.

I'm pretty sure the game is about rebuilding something (maybe a part of the base or the place where the main character is or smth, judging by the 30 collectibles). But still I'd like a more specific explanation.

Nice work, man!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, sorry I couldn't construct a well placed tutorial system for all the abilities. That's why I had all the control guide stocked in a section of the main menu.

And in terms of a specific explanation, well I also didn't have enough time to explain it in a cutscene in-game. That's why I just used a quick dialogue excerpt in the itch page. At the description.

Anyways, thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback. I'll try to make the game a lot more user friendly once the jam is over.

I like your art style :)

Thank you. :)

A crazy amount of content here. I didn't manage to finish it, I got a decent way in and then went through a tunnel that led to an area that wasn't finished and fell out of the world. The experience before that was great though. I love the original enemies and the whole thing gave me Metroid vibes. The dash was a much welcomed power up and made the dungeon fun to travel around. A great entry, well done!.

Developer

Thanks, and sorry about the falling out of the world bug. It was supposed to be a deadly trap but it turned into a passage to a never ending void, heh heh.......
Anyways, I'm glad you liked the game and here's a little secret: There's actually a cheat code I placed in the game that might help you finish the game more quickly, you'll have to find out with your keyboard. ;)

Really cool game. Love the player's after-effects, explorable dungeons and BG music.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for playing the game. Hope you enjoyed the last bit? :)

As for the BG music, I couldn't have done it wothout a talented composer I encountered online. I owe it to him.

Jam Judge(+1)

The game is unplayable on itch with keyboard and mouse, how to play buttons does nothing.

Developer

I've figured out the issue, and I'm so sorry for the inconvenience.
Once you've clicked on the run game button and the game starts, you'll have to click on the game's window before the buttons actually work. I don't know why it does this, maybe it's because it automatically plays the game in full screen

Thanks for letting me know. :)
