that was fun... thanks to mochi I no longer have depression

Developer

Haha! Good job on your submission. I appreciated the subtle portal reference/cake.

Mochi became my spirit animal during my play session. 10/10

Haha! Yeah, he was mine during the Jam. Glad you enjoyed it!

Very Cool and i like the animations

I found the games very creative.

Congratulations!

Thank you! The baseball one is a childhood memory from Wario Land 4 (GBA, 2001). It was released a few years before the GBA WarioWare, but the minigame was so fun I like to think it inspired that developer to make WarioWare a few years later. This is the page on it, and I feel silly that I forgot to reference it during the jam: https://www.mariowiki.com/Wario%27s_Homerun_Derby. There's a lot of important details I missed, like the pitcher nodding hints to the player, and the screen becoming lighter after cracking.

Cool bunch of minigames, The music, Mochi character and the flavour selector were cool too.  Nice work!

Many times, people will just go straight to gameplay. I appreciate you taking the time to explore the menu. Thank you for your feedback!

Nice game bro, I like music you used for game and in the starting screen that flavour option.

Good job

Thanks man! I used an AI song generator that skaoir recommended in the discord (https://discord.com/channels/258623956158906368/936338995875577926/9866947616688...). I got excited because I thought a personal license (for unlimited songs) was $5 but uh.. no. It's $5 per song lol. It's ok. One was good enough for me. The gameplay song I found for free at https://www.fesliyanstudios.com/.

These minigames were a lot of fun. Some took a little while to understand, but they were fairly simple and a little addictive. I like the little touches, like the baseball swerving sideways or off the screen  before screaming to home base.

The music and Mochi's comments all added to the experience. A great job with your submission.

Developer

Thank you! It was a lot of physics and some tweening. I hope that someday I can incorporate joints like you did in your submission. The "linked boat" concept was great. I'm glad you liked Mochi's personality haha.

The game is really fun to play, it took a bit to understand what to, but once I did, it was fun, the music helped to keep playing.

Also, on round 10 or something, the baseball game, the ball went too fast, and it was impossible to hit that

Developer

Thank you very much for taking the time to play it! I tried to give them each a little bit of depth, and the baseball one had to be scaled back a lot, haha. Not surprising that I didn't completely iron it out. It was probably the "Trick ball" (slow, pause, then mach 5).

Great writing... also what's up with the cowboy theme?

Developer (2 edits)

Thank you! It's a little nod to Wario being a japanese character sold to a western audience. In the same way, I dress up Mochi (a japanese rice cake) in a cowboy outfit (an overt Western theme).

Oh, that makes sense! You know, I've been playing a lot of these games and I'm going through and rating them all, and a lot of them don't feel like WarioWare. But yours does, so great job!

Developer

Thank you! You should see GansWare. He really knocked it out of the park. Every detail drips Warioware.

The artstyle is so funny :) Great work, well done and loved the flavor button so original!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I spent hooourrs drawing those simple animations. Gave me an appreciation for skilled animation, but I was just hoping to get a chuckle or two out of the player.

I love the art style and the cowboy (loading screen) :3

Great job ! <3

Thank you! I was very impressed with yours. I've only played ~25% of submissions, but yours is still number 1. Leaderboard implementation was a great idea - competition makes things much more interesting.

Thanks :D it means a lot <3

I also like your game :D pretty fun ! Keep up the great work !😊

Definitely captured the Warioware/microgames feel. Great work.

Developer (2 edits)

Thank you, haha. I went for a "Japanese with a thin Western veneer" style.

This is fun. I really like music. Perfectlly match game. Paper towel game is hilarious.

Developer

Thanks! I really tried to capture the 'weirdness' of warioware haha.
