Hey nice game guys, and it's nice to see a team effort. Coordinating together is more complex than just doing something solo so it's nice to see.

The atmosphere was great from the intro screen on. Tutorial was much appreciated. The graphical style was cool as well, was it 3d displaying as isometric?

Unfortunately I had trouble with the performance, it was pretty choppy for me - probably WebGL issues (I was using Chrome if it makes a difference). Perhaps because of this, the jump height was inconsistent for me - sometimes the jumps were high and sometimes they were quite short. This made it really hard for me to time the shots in the air, and it took me so many tries to get past a few points that those points were just frustrating. However I get that this is probably a browser or WebGL issue, so very hard for you to control or foresee.

The puzzle mechanics and levels were fun and well-designed as well.

Good job!

Thanks for taking the time to play! I'm sorry that it was choppy :/ guess i should have made time for optimization. Yeah it was 3D displaying in iso. After seeing people play and reading the feedback, I think the bats were probably more frustrating than fun because they were so difficult to shoot. If there is stuttering, then that only makes it worse. Either way, I really appreciate the time you took to play and give feedback! Thanks!

This was an excellent game and had some great level design. It was cool how you took the relatively simple shooting mechanic and explored the depth of it. Using the shoot animation to "glide" through the air was super cool. By far the best feature was of course the handsome guy in the cage! Not to much I can critique honestly. Maybe some more juice when taking damage and some visual polish like a parallax effect or something. Really good work!

Thanks for taking the time to play and stream it. You had a lot of good feedback that I'll keep in mind for future projects, and I appreciate that you were able to save all of the hidden prisoners. lol

I liked this game a lot!  It was very moody and a fun little play.  The Health as Spell Points mechanic was really neat and well done and i loved how the little witch looked.  My only real complaints are that there didn't seem to be any indication I had taken damage from enemies and I could only restart when I ran out of health.  If there was an option to restart mid-level as well I think that could be a good addition.  Overall great work!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play! I think you're right. Some feedback for damage and a way to restart mid level would be some very welcome quality of life additions.

I loved playing your game.

I think the soundtrack is really nice and fits the style. I also like how you make this almost more of a puzzle game than a platform game by giving you just enough HP to cast spells to clear the level. The animations look amazing and the levels are also really nice.

I would like to know how many Zackavelli's there are though, a counter for example would help. Because let's be honest, no Zackavelli deserves to be locked up in a cage!

Looking forward to your games in upcoming jams!

Thanks for taking the time to play! Yeah you're totally right. There should be a counter that shows if you've saved them all. Thanks for the feedback!

This was really fantastic!

What I Liked:

Art was amazing! The witch looks great and the walking animation too - also the static standing still animation is a nice touch. Animation & sound effects when shooting a spell looked nice. Bats looked nice, trees looked nice, portal looked nice...

The opening menu is a great touch, and seeing the pumpkin explode is a great way to teach the player that that will happen.

I think you did a great job w/ tutorials and teaching the player how to play. I know it isn't easy in a jam, but really appreciate it!

I love that you really went all-in on the Halloween theme. And good job following the gameplay theme! I think it made for some interesting puzzles!

What I Would've Liked to See:

A bit of juice when you take damage (from your spell too) would help with gameplay, I think.

A nice, starry background or something I think would make the game look really good.

When pressing Ctrl in my browser, it would try to bookmark the page (was this in purpose XD).

All-in-all, really great job with this - I had fun playing!

Thanks for your feedback.

The CTRL was not intended. You can shoot using mouse button also if CTRL doesn't work.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! I agree that a starry background would have looked very nice. And I like your suggestion of adding feedback to when the player gets hurt. Thanks for taking the time to play!
