Nice game idea and levels, especially the one inspired by Squid Game :D
It was a really fun game to play, nice idea and execution. Love the dancing animation.
solid little game! although i do wish there were more tile mechanics than just the ones we got, maybe tiles that fall if you stand on them for too long could be cool. i really really liked the kangaroo's idle animation, that's not something you usually see with game jam games, and i thought that was just excellent attention to detail and polish.
level 12 almost broke me lol. the relief i felt when i saved all the kangaroos was extreme. great game, the pieces in place all work really well together. Sometimes i would clip through the platforms and fall to my death and that felt frustrating in an unfair way. maybe extend the colliders a little to add a bit of grace? Or maybe a better indication of where the kangaroo is going to land, either a shadow or some kind of icon would maybe be helpful? great job
Played through it! It was pretty fun. I like the addition of the music which is cool. There are some nice design aspects that I like. Every second tile is just about perfectly the distance you can jump if you just tap and hold a direction key. That makes the level designs feel very smooth and well put together. I'm also really impressed by how smoothly you can move between the stages you've already played and how smoothly it load them. Although I feel like there were times that it was difficult to tell how far I was moving in the air. Because you can only see your movement relative to the platforms, if all the platforms are moving or you can't see your shadow it can be a bit tough to tell how far you're going like in level 11. The random blocks are also a little bit mean in some levels.
I played all the levels :
what I liked : simple controls but requiring some skills
what I disliked : moving platforms do not give inertia so you can't use them as boost for your jump, tiles with ? are pure randomness in some stages (where in other you can figure it out that there is no "simplest way" with only 2 tiles ?)
The music is a bit repetitive but overall sfx sounds are great.
I saw at the comments section that you did this game for another game jam, which is a bit odd, even if it was also with a random generator
this was a fun little casual game to play. i enjoyed the kanagroo models alot, they have some personality and are fun to move around. the floaty jump was forgiving which was a good fit for this type of game, nice job there. the SFX were fine but started to get annoying towards the end, especially on lvl 12 where you die many many times. I liked the mechanic of ? tiles but I think it could be improved by having some sort of pattern to figure out rather than just randomly guessing. Also, the player shadow was a nice bit of polish. I had fun playing this entry, nice work!!
It feels a bit iffy that you uploaded a game that you built for another game jam.
I make this game for another jam. But theme was choose random:)
