The graphics are kinda cool!

The game is so polished, I like the art a lot and the music is very fitting too! But when I play on the Barbarian side and kill the Romes then why are there no dead bodies? Also sometimes the enemies spawn on top of you, making it impossible to dodge. Overall, well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! The dead bodies was a bug we discovered shortly after posting. I set a note on the page but not eveyrone noticed - it's not about the side you pick but rather when you replay the game. If you refresh the page you can play either side and the dead bodies will work.

Thank you again! Can't wait to update the game with the different fighting methods for each side!

Hahaha it's my favorite part, too!

I found it to be a very entertaining game, the music that makes you immerse yourself in the battle making the game more enjoyable, very good job :)

Developer

Thank you so much! We really appreciate it!

Fun game and I like the geometric design. The music was epic and I really enjoyed the funny audio clips!

I like the interpretation of the theme picking between Romans/Barbarians, but as others have mentioned more differences between the two sides would've been awesome. You said you would address this so looking forward to updates!

Developer

Thank you so much!! And yes, the different weapon system is in the original game design and it's in the works! Thanks again!!

I rated your game now you rate mine >>>https://itch.io/jam/geojam-2022/rate/1592193

The audio clips were really funny but the game play is pretty much just stand still and click while looking at the enemy's. Also there should be a difference between the sides. Basically what AriNeonShark said. Also the graphics and music were great!

I would love it if you could rate my game as well.  I'm trying to get at least 10 ratings!

Developer

Yup, looking forward to updating the game with the different fighting mechanics for each side. Thank you again!!!

The music was very fun and felt epic! The game play was pretty good but picking a side didn't effect it that much. But I must say the lines were hilarious and my personal favorite was "everything has an end only a sausage has two!" that one made me laugh! this game looks great and this is really good!

Developer

Haha thank you so much for playing! That is our favorite line too 😂
We were hoping to have different weapon and fighting styles for each but the time limit was too much! Stay tuned for updates after the jam! 🥳

Nice idea. Audio clips were amazing! You could some consequence like the guy below said. Good job, good game! You can rate my game if you want :D

I had to checked what was going to happen if I'm not going to kill anybody. It said I fought like an animal and got 0 kills. Sorry haha

OMG that's hilarious!!! Poor warrior! But hey, you know what they say? it's the effort that counts!
Thank you so much for playing! We will definitely check your game 😊

Good start for a project here, but there's some richness missing from the experience.

  1. Choosing between the sides had no consequence on gameplay which would be a huge win for enjoyment of the project. E.g. "Romans have increased health, but slower movement." vs "Barbarians are more agile but also more fragile."
  2. Having a means of demonstrating excellence. Right now, spamming the attack button is the de facto correct answer. If there were a basic stamina system that penalized spamming of attacks, that would force the player to be more tactical in their combat.

Thanks for sharing this project! P.S. The audio clips were quite fun :)

Thank you for your feedback!🙏

I agree the game would be more fun with greater complexity, but it was a challenge to do everything and meet the deadline. One of the things we had planned was different weapon system and tactics for each (not so much inherent properties of the individuals) as well as a larger screen with opportunity for strategy and tactics.  And many more ideas that never made it...

Alas, 72 hours (in reality 20) was too much pressure! 😅

Hi, I liked the idea of this game a lot! I needed to be able to crush someone with my spear! Nice game for the time restriction. Maybe I would have really enjoyed some more particle effect to indicate the death of an enemy, just to add a bit more gore XD.  Sometimes it seems that enemy spawn almost in the middle of the screen instead of coming from the side, is that intended?

Developer

Thank you so much for your kind and thorough feedback! I absolutely agree about more gore and more juicy effects. We had those listed to add but with the crazy time pressure we could not realize the vision fully. Looking forward to updating it with more juice and remove funky bugs like the one you mention!

Thank you again!
