Thanks a lot!
Simple to learn but actually very fun to play :)
Glad you had fun :)
Simple gameplay makes a fun puzzle game. Well done.
Thanks you! Simplicity was one of my goals.
Very nice looking game. I'm going to finish it. A bit easy for me, but really cool concept.
Thanks a lot. If you find the levels to easy, wait for levels 3xJ and 3xbR :) those are quite difficult imo.
My best score is 4XR. Is this far from it ?
4xR is the 16th level, so you still have 18 levels ahead of you :)
3xJ is the 21st level, 3xbR is the 33rd.
Ok nice, I'll try latter ;)
Very original and polished. Good job.
Thank you!
So good puzzle-game! spent over an hour playing through all the levels. Simple, zen-like and solid. The mouse didn't seem to always register when I pushed the button to drop pieces. That could be looked over if you would continue with this
It makes me so happy reading this comment! The whole Zen-thing was also my goal. If you enjoyed that aspect, check out UpLeftOut, which is what inspired to this games aesthetics and feel.
I noticed the same thing for dropping. I think the "snapping" parameters need to be tweaked a bit for that.
I might actually continue with this and try to get it on google play store :)
Nice idea and well executed!
Thanks!
This game plays very smooth and is very satisfying! The puzzles are easy enough to not be frustrating but hard enough to give a head scratch or two!
Glad you like it :)
Awesome game! In addition to being perfect for the jam's theme, it is just implemented very well, and if I had played it without knowing it's from a game jam, I could swear that it was thoroughly playtested, as the levels are so well designed to lead the player down the right path! amazing work, keep it going!
Thanks a lot! The levels were actually playtested a lot, by me and a friend. Since we're both fans of these kinds of puzzle games in general, rough edges and things that work nicely stood out to us.
minimalistic, clever and straight forward! a great puzzle game!
Thanks!
Nice, sleek & straightforward, though I'll admit it didn't engage me enough to finish all the levels. I wish there were more of the tiles with interlocking diagonals or spaces like the "arrow", instead of just plain old polyominoes. The unusual shapes were a lot more interesting to put down.
I also like the disconnected shapes a lot more. If you play through the first 22 levels, you will be rewarded with 12 bonus levels, with each except for one of them having disconnected, and more complicated shapes.
The disconnected shapes stepped up the difficulty when they came =)
Super cool puzzle game and very cleverly related to the theme! Love the feeling of dialog with developer via the bottom text. Minimalistic and well-balanced. Good job!
P.S. Still playing...
Happy you like it! Keep going, even when the levels get really hard :)
This is a very lovely game with a wonderful concept -- definitely kept me engaged. Played all the way to the end ! My only criticism for this as a jam game is the difficulty between puzzles isn't exactly consistent or linear -- certain boards were just too easy despite the implied challenge of increased tiles. Otherwise, it's well-balanced -- it never felt like I was being cheated of a win or wandering aimlessly. The commentary and flavour text was also very endearing and provides just enough insight to the puzzle to give you an idea but not hint outright what should be done to solve them.
Overall, I'd rate it a 4.7/5 as a puzzle game !!
Thank you for the thorough comment!
The difficulty was definitely a bit jagged - the tiles themselves have a major impact on how difficult a level can be. There are two levels which are off-the-charts-difficult IMO, but I put those at the very end of the original and bonus levels respectively, so the user really feels satisfied when solving them, being rewarded with the completion of the game.
The commentary was only intended to be hints at first, but I couldnt stop myself from adding some text to every level :)
I really like the concept, but to make it challenging, the levels become too big and start to rely more on luck than logic.
There's definitely some trial and error involved. The later levels (22+) have better level design IMO, since i had so much experience at that point. I'd rather have all the levels be solved by clever thinking instead of luck, so I agree :)
Awesome game! Very polished, it's just a shame there's no sound.. :| Anyways, the idea is great and the execution is great. Fits well with the theme, and the levels are spectacularly designed. Overall, a great experience while playing it. Great job, especially for 48 hours! I hope you are featured in the video, you deserve it! :)
Thank you for the kind words! I usually skip creating sounds for my games. It's just something that does not come so naturally to me, and I never seem to be able to find the sound effects that fit the way I want.
You're very welcome! :) Yeah, I understand. I also usually find sound effects and music the toughest part of game making... :| Either way, the game is great, sound effects or not :)
Really great concept, filling a board with one tile proved to be easy at times, though some certainly stumped me, and theres room for even more complexity. If this were on an app store its something id pull up on my phone all the time to pass time.
My original plan was to have more grid types (like triangular and hex grids), so that would definitely add some complexity. I actually thought about releasing this in the play store, lets see. Thanks for your comment!
Nice work, I enjoyed it :)
Glad to hear :)
It definitely adheres to the theme of creating puzzle levels that are solved using only a single kind of puzzle piece. A lot of levels were quite easy though, but I'm sure with more time some complex puzzle pieces and levels could be created.
Hello, yes, some level are quite trivial. The shape of the puzzle piece creates an upper bound for the difficulty of the level, for example the square or S-shaped tiles. Some of the later levels do have quite complex tiles and the difficulty really goes up.
Awesome Game! I love it!!
Thank you!
so nice! I love it!
Thank you :)
