Great graphics, challenging game! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam 2019 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Thanks so much! You actually don't need to hit every enemy 4 times, you just need to hit them when the health bar is at one. I'm working on tweaking it to better explain that.
I was hoping to see more games like this this jam! Really excellent work and the sprites were on point as well! <3
Thank you so much! I am no artist, but I did my best.
I really liked this one. It took me a little while to figure out how things worked, but once I did it was really fun.
Thanks for sticking with it and I'm glad it was worth it!
Very interesting take on the theme, i gotta say you made a super versatile gameplay and it's really original for a shooter, i like how you sorta put the enemies and the player on the same level where if you sacrifice your health you risk one hit kills but you can kill ennemies in one hit and dispose of them quickly to not get overwhelmed, its a nice strategy element nicely put within an action gameplay.
Also i really like the NES style music and the visuals, with the really detailed yet simple sprites :) your use of the color palette to comunicate player/enemy health outside of the UI is also awesome !
Had a blast playing this one, Congrats to you :D !!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Really did, like i said had a blast, your gameplay twist is cool :)
It took me a while to really wrap my head around how it worked, but once I did, WOW what an idea! Such a natural dynamic of risk-reward gameplay should absolutely not be overlooked, and I am immediately a huge fan on concept alone. Throw in some gamepad controls and you've sold me 100%. Everything after that is tuning and balancing and content, as far as I'm concerned. Well done.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it. I thought I added gamepad support, but it turns out I only did it for shooting and healing, not moving. Whoops! I'm totally fixing that in the updated version. Thanks!
Nice take on the theme and a very original entry overall! I really like how the colors show how much health you have. It was really difficult since the enemies are just as durable as you.
Thanks so much for the feedback! As I was making it I kept losing track of how much health was left, so I decided plaster that information on literally every sprite in the game.
Super original idea! I never ever would've image a game with onyl one health bar. Great job!! For the next jam really consider uploading an htmlk5 version, it'll incredibly increase your views and rates! This game deserves more plays!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. It took me four hours to come up with idea originally. And yeah, I really should have done an web version...
Original take on the theme!
Wished the pacing was a bit slower at the beginning that would prevent players dying needlessly when they don't know the rules yet.
Thanks for the feedback! I tried to come up with something novel. Pacing was something I tried balance, but I definitely agree that it could be better, especially at the beginning.
At first, I wasn't sure what was happening. Then I read the instructions and it hit me. The risk vs reward factor is CRAZY on this game! Really nice core gameplay!

Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. As soon as I thought of the healing enemies I knew the whole "one health bar" thing could be an interesting idea.
Good luck! loved this
This is an interesting one! Inherently kinda paradoxical, and it would have been nice to have some explanation that the player's bullets are essentially special, as they're the only ones that can actually kill individual things without killing everything, including the player.
Ultimately, this winds up playing like a light bullet-hell game where everything has 1 health most of the time, though the little enemies that heal everyone shake that up a bit.
At first I thought it was too easy to get overwhelmed (and if you let enemies pile up it can be very hard to make a dent and get back on top), but it winds up being easy enough most of the time to keep it to one or two enemies on screen simultaneously.
