I had a lot of fun playing this, because it is so addicting! It is comparable to classic arcade games that made you want to keep putting in more quarters.

Developer

Thank you, I was inspired by them a little bit.:)

This looks so good, and is tough as nails! I like the simplicity in the spear mechanic, especially when I learned you can throw the spear further by holding the mouse down. With a little polish, I could see this as a fun arcade game for web browsers.

Developer

Thank you very much, however, I decided to keep this project downloadable for a while, fortunately I upload it in time.

I appreciate the fact that the spear doesn't automatically come back and you have to retrieve it! It really makes you think about how to use it! I also tried to make some crazy combos and it was very satisfying when I pulled out a wave clearing shot! What I would love to see, would be monsters interacting with each other. Like using suicide monsters to blow up other monsters!

Developer

Thank you for kind words. I'm happy to see that you like spear mechanics. And yea, monsters interactions are planned.

Some more mobility options could help a lot here I believe. The game itself is simple and solidly done. Could use a little more juice!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, currantly thinking about some juice.

good game! Would be nice addition if you can roll as well to dodge. I find the game a bit too challenging due to the one spear mechanic but its understandable as its the theme of the game jam. The windows version really made things easier though. The sprites are amazing and the implementation is well made. If you continue working on this, consider adding sfx to spice things up :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback. SFX and roll are planned for a post jam version. :)

The game is really well designed, I like to controls and the idea. I know this might be much to ask in 48 hours, but it would have been better if implemented in pre designed levels. A perma-death game where you learn hard how to pass the level. Well that's just me, and this is very good game you have here!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback. I love the idea of the prebuild levels with different waves, but it can take a considering amount of time, as I'm not food in level desing as I want. However, I'm thinking about some additional traps in the arena.

ok at first I thought this game was literally impossible. I didn't know that you can charge up to throw the spear. But after dying like 6 times in a row without defeating a single enemy. I was like there has to be something I'm missing. So I decided to try holding down to throw my spear and I saw the charge meter and that's when the fun began to happen.

I was super thankful the beginning enemies couldn't get right away. I was able to dodge and get my spear back pretty good. Then I discovered you can take out multiple enemies with one spear throw and that was really fun.

Then these exploding guys were everywhere and that was awesome. But the enemy that shot a spread attack was the one that got me in the end and ruined my kill streak haha

I saw someone do this same style game but in 3D but honestly it seems way better in this top down format. bummer you didn't get the sfx in but still a fun game

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. I'm happy to see that people enjoy playing my game even though it hasn't any sounds and really like spear mechanics! Speaking about big guys, I implemented them during the last hour of the jam, and they're entirely unbalanced. I have some thoughts about them for a post jam version.

Nice game. Loved smashing the spear through a row of enemies, but that caused me to die more often. Design was good.

Appreciated the option of download, since the HTML5 version was a bit small.

Developer

Thank you. I made this game primarily for PC, I asked a friend of mine to make a HTML5 build 30 minutes before the end of the jam. But I didn't know about some problems with the scale of the game.

Super cool. Like how it controls and also the looks. Reminds me a bit of Titan Souls. It appears I am a bit spoiled by God of War, constantly expecting to magically pull back the spear :D

Developer

I thought about different types of throwable weapons. XD And Kratos is a good variant!

I like the concept for this one, the art/sprites really added to it -- I wish there  was some sound, even some throwaway stuff would've really helped to sell the impact of the spear, but there was a lot of visual impact there even without it. Overall enjoyed it, but I did encounter some kind of error on the web version, something about an instance ID? It didn't stop me from playing the game or anything though.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. I'm going to add sounds in a new version after the jam ends. Also, I know about the error, but, future version will be PC only.:)

Very well made game had fun with it getting combos was satisfying. I think handmade levels you have to get through could have been even more fun than endless waves. Would also be cool if the exploding enemies could blow up other enemies for even bigger combos. Hope you expand on it :)

Developer

Thank you for a feedback. I thought about additional obstacles in the arena and some traps, but my skills of making good pathfinding isn't good enough, yet.

Sprites & animations are cute, And it gives off the ittybitty lil' mayhem vibes.

The whole one spear throw/retrieve method feels well done, Making the players to consider both their position and spear's position every time they attack is not the hardest brainsqueezer but subtle & sweet design, Very high adherence to the theme, only one.

Also, Snatching off that little health potion in middle of utter mayhem feels really goooood..
But I think the zoomed out view makes me harder to keep track of everything. (or maybe because I lack the GamerVision[tm] and generally suck at overall gaming lol)

About originality? I've never seen topdown games with shoot & pickup with one ammo 'til now, So I'll give it a good score.

Generally, It was short but fun experience!

Oh, And there was some minor glitch when I picked up the health potions, It said Unknown instance ID : undefined (possibly you've forgot to refer to the spawned instance somewhere in your code?)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. HTML5 version of the game was builded by my friend and the game was made for a PC, as a result, there can be some errors and that's why there is problems with a camera. If you want to have better experience, you can download PC version from the games page.

Got it!

Fun game, nice work! the mechanic feels good to use. Not the most creative concept, but a fun one!

The enemies are tricky to avoid sometimes, but once you get how it works you avoid them easily, I love that!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I want to add a dodge move to make the game more dynamic and not so repetitive.

Submitted(+1)

I like the mechanic of holding down the mouse to through the spear and the distance depends on the mouse hold. So there's a trade off between going far and collecting it, and killing the cute monsters! well made!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, the spear mechanics works well, but I'm going to remake it slightly, as the logic is a little bit clunky.

Submitted(+1)

Small but cute game, the animations are clean and charming, those alone keep you engaged for a while. As per mechanics there is not much to it, you charge your shot aim and fire then circle your way back to getting it. Once you play a bit it gets really easy: circle around ignoring fire, line up your shot, throw spear and repeat.

Adherence to the theme, it sure does, it sticks to only one spear and that baby is your only companion.

Originality, not a rare concept i was hoping for a twist that never came but had fun with it nonetheless.

Developer

Thank you for feedback. I wanted to add some power ups, but eventually didn't desingn them.:)

Submitted(+1)

Really clean game, the mechanics work well from the auto pick up to the combos. If you were giving a week on this I know you could add some mad stuff like combo bonuses and all kinds of fun things. Really great game overall well done :)

Developer

Thanks. I'm thinking on making a post-jam version with sounds and some adjustments.

Submitted(+1)

Great game!

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

This looks beautiful! Great animations, design and difficulty curves! I only wish that it had some awesome sounds to match!

Developer

Thnk you. Speaking about difficlty curve, it needs some adjustments which I'm going to make next week.

Submitted(+1)

I liked the gameplay decision of not throwing the spear too far- Because you are vulnerable when you have to go get it!

Dropped health potions is a nice touch.

I felt frustrated with the skeletons though since they do not give a visual indicator when they are about to fire, but really liked the designs of the other enemies. Nice job :D

Developer

Thank you for a comment. Right now I see that skeletons are too strong as a starter enemy. They attack too frequent.

Submitted(+1)

Blasting through the line of enemies feels very nice, and the game itself is pretty addictive, would love to see this project grow!

Developer

Thank you!
