The music and art are great! The random rules spice things up a lot in each playthrough and with even more rules this could become a really good game.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Funny concept :D i feel that, if you would introduce more of strategy  by making new randome rules, the fun factor would increas drasticly

Developer(+1)

Yeah definitely! Thanks for playing!

This concept has a lot of potential and I would like to see where it goes! I liked that even though the rules continued to change, I could use it to my advantage.  Overall great presentation and I could see myself playing this again!

Thanks!

Overall, this game has a potential to be developed further as this chaotic gameplay is promising, but some rules were not always very clear (like the morph ones). Won a number of times by playing randomly too. If you want to develop it more afterwards, the cards have a pretty neat aesthetic, but maybe we could use a way to clearly differentiate their categories, like instead of using words like SEASON and PLANT, use colored logos in the cards and the rules popup too, so that there would be an intuitive link between the two.

Developer

Yeah, I 100% agree with you. It was suggested to have an indicator in the corner of the cards but unfortunately we did not have time to do so. On a side note, the usage of all caps for the types is due to printing the identifier used in code without adjustments. Thanks for playing the game though!

Good art and good, chill audio, really enjoyed the aesthetic you had going, but I must admit as a Pokemon TCG / YuGiOh player, I actually kinda struggled with the rules of this game. I found myself in my third playthrough just playing random cards expecting to just either win or lose, and moreorless ignored the directions from the cat.

I understand why distinguishing the cards is important with rules pertaining to "Morph a card you draw into a Banner card" for example, but perhaps include some base rules; such as, for example you can only play certain cards on top of others; x beats y beats z beats a beats x, and if you cannot do so, draw a card.

THAT said, again, good art and good chill. Looks like something you could expand upon and could be really interesting in concept. Should you expand, I wish you the best!

Developer

Thanks! We are aware that there are issues with the rules and that some of the basic ones were messing and the very rng nature of the game. I'm glad you enjoyed the art and aesthetic though!

I had a very hard time figuring out what the cards actually were from the visuals - what is a SEASON card, what is a BANNER card? It definitely got out of control quick on my second playthrough, but I didn't really feel engaged, by the time I was drawing 3 cards per turn, swapping hands at the end of the turn, swapping hands on every play, I was just clicking random things and confused.

Developer

Ah sorry about that. The menu button on the top right corner of the game area brought up a menu with a help button that allowed you to review the cards. The rules are really chaotic because they are randomly put together. I hope you enjoyed some aspect of the game though! Thanks for playing!

The aesthetic was beautiful! Your idea is interesting although some rules (such as draw 2 cards every turn) seem a bit odd? The game feels extremely chance based. All in all great job on the jam!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah it really is praying for good rng on the rules. All of the rules are randomly put together with a lot of parameters and I wish I had more time to make it better. Thanks for playing the game though!

I loved the artstyle, the concept and the playablility of the game. If this game was multiplayer, had maybe a deck selection (where you can select your plant-banner-animal-season ratio's), this game could get very far, very quickly.

Developer

Thanks! I wish I could have done more with it but the programming really got us stumped. Thanks for playing!

I would love to see an update for this in the future :)

Love the concept, i played about 5-6 times before moving on. easy to grasp. You could easily expand this into a bigger game or even a multiplayer game. That would increase the fun tenfold. If only somehow it could last longer i could play this for hours.

Thanks! Glad you liked it! Multiplayer would be amazing if we knew how to do that.
