Love the core gameplay elements!

I think the use of control to make friendly fire a problem is a nice one.

And the level design, placing the player in situations where it is difficult to shoot the correct target, is well done and executed.

But,

- The choice of colours for non-gameplay parts like GUI clash too much with the game sprites. Having the game sprites be simple is not bad, but having a good distinction between the game and menu is important, and makes the game feel more polished with little investment in time.

- Adding sound and music goes a long way, having some free generic lazer effects would have made the game feel more responsive and less sterile.

- Improving the hitboxes would feel good too, some of the bullet collisions mid-air feel really bad, especially when the sprite clips the ally pieces slightly mid projectile shot.

Hi everyone, I appreciate your comments. I agree that it's hard to get into rhythm, I'll see what I can do about that, also, the resolution is indeed smaller than it should be, sorry. I'll be sure to fix that once the jam ends.

pretty good concept, but shooting feels a bit too slow

This is a fun take on the theme. Although it is sometimes frustrating I enjoyed it when I was doing well.

This is going to sound similar to the comment down below, but here goes

I like the idea and how simplistic it was, the in the end it turned out pretty hard for me to get into the rhythm and it proved a little frustrating. The lack of any sound also didn't help.

Perhaps some sort of timer at the top of the screen or some blip or audio beep would have helped alot with this.

Honestly, although I dont really like the state it is in now, I still see quite alot of potential for this game and if fixed up right, I reckon id like it quite a lot. Add some music and some indicator of when you're going to shoot next and really you're good to go.

I love the idea, but I just couldn't get into the rhythm and had to give up on the third level. Either some music with it going to the beat, or some other visual or audio indicator would help tremendously so I can anticipate the shots better. Fix that (an maybe make the difficulty curve a bit gentler), then I could see this being a really great game.

I like the mechanic, but the lack of music and sounds makes it fell kinda empty. I feel like the window was supposed to be bigger than it was also.

I liked getting into a rhythm of when i would fire. Since it felt like jumps would always be the same height no matter how long or short i held down the jump button, I didn't feel like I had much CONTROL over where i would shoot. Which is good, considering the jam theme! Nice work

This game is very clever, and It is so fun to try and shoot the bad guy but not shoot the good guy.  If you like this idea, keep working on it! I hope you improve your game making skills. If you have time, please check out my game :D
